As I'm writing this (a little past 9:30 Eastern time), the Nationals are holding off the Dodgers in the top of the 8th by a 5-4 score. After last night's win, can this be yet another mirage the Nats are putting on for my benefit??
I can't take this any more. All I want, is for the Nats not to lose 100 games. Just win 18 more games between now and the end of the season, that's all I'm asking. Can you do that for me, and the rest of Nats Nation??
Anyway, I wanted to talk about the future of the Nats.
If you'll check out www.fannation.com/blogs/post/194256, you'll run across the name Esmailyn Gonzalez. I mentioned in that blog I wasn't sure where he was in the Nats' farm system. I know now. He won the Gulf Coast League batting title this year...which means, come spring training he'll be either in Hagerstown or Potomac.
Speaking of the P-Nats, they're in the Carolina League postseason come September. So at least I can say there's a Nationals team playing for a title this year...of course, it's the Potomac Nationals, but still it's something.
God, let this season be over...

But we're sweeping the Dodgers, Thug!!! Even I'M a bit shocked at that...
So the "magic number" now is 14...14 more wins, and I don't get to see 100 losses for the Nats.
Hell, we can probably sweep Atlanta this weekend!!!
