Here in Wisconsin we go into every new season of Brewers baseball quietly hoping that the Brewers we know and love wont show up.  Because the Brewers we know and love are, well, not great.  This year it seems as though all those years of hopeing have finally paid off as the Brew Crew is primed to take the wild card.  That is, if we can hold on for another month.  Normally the brewers fall apart in September.  Fingers and toes crossed.  Even if we don't make it to the world series with hired gun Sabathia, things need to change in a big way.

First, Ben Sheets needs to go.  After sheets gets his 10th or 11th win he slows down.  The guy has never reached # 13.  Anyone who makes as much money as sheets should give you 15 easily.  Sheets looks as if he gives up at times, or phones it in.

Second, Gagne, Bush, and a few others need to go.  We have no closer, we have middle relief that stalls out after 4 pitches, and we're blowing something in the way of 20 million on a pack of guys that couldn't out pitch a 6th grade gym class.  Time to find some new guns.

Third, Make a run at C.C.  Who knew that this would work out so good?  Put we need to lock him up.  With the money that will free up if we let sheets and gagne go the Brewers could lock up C.C. for another 3-4 years.

Fourth, Ricky Weeks, trade 'em.  He's a great fielder but a terrible bat. There are guys out there who are good at both.  Make a run for someone else to compliment Durnam.

Last,  Get rid of Yost.  He's inconsistant and just plain bad.  So many times you'll hear Yooker say "not sure on this call by Yost"  Bring in a Manager who isn't afraid to change it up.  Try and pick up someone who hasn't worn a Brewers uni, huh?

Just my take on it.  Give me your opinion.

Yes they are; the will to Win. They added one of the best pitches in baseball joining Sheets, they have bats that "cud" light up any stadium, so what's the problem. No guts, no Glory.

Go Canes!

I agree on all your points save for one: the Brewers need a firey guy like Yost at the helm. Sheets is overrated (always has been; his only accomplishment is a Gold Medal), Weeks is turning out to be a bust, they should have never brought on Gagne, and YES they should at least try to lock up Sabathia. We love him! He has rejuvinated the starting rotation and put the spotlight on Milwaukee for a reason other than atrociousness. Nice blog there guy.

Who ever wrote this is not a true fan of milwuakee and doesn't know much about baseball. as a brewers fan you should know that we are not made of money and cannot go out and get who ever we want. Sabathia could bring in one of the biggest contracts for a pitcher ever and the brewers can't afford that. 2nd Sabathia has said that he wants to test the free agent market and why stay in Milwaukee when he will get a lot more press as a yankee, red sox, dodger, or I hate to say it Cub. Next I would love to see ricky weeks get traded but you aren't going to get anything for him, his market isn't high enough for the brewers to want to trade him. Thats why you bring in Durham to hopefully kick start weeks. Which by the way worked at least for a little bit. then about the relief pitchers if you remember last you would be praising the pitchers that we have, Anyone remember Turnbow........ You can't go and overhaul your entire bull pen in one offseason, and the brewers tried so we made some bad mistakes but we are still a ton better than last year. So from now on So called brewers fan think of all those brewer teams that sucked, then start taking. For now just enjoy the Ride Cause October Baseball Is Coming To Milwaukee Baby!

For whoever wrote this, you call yourself a brewer fan? or for that matter a follower of baseball, well if you do the you aren't a very smart one! First off sheets is going to go, and Sabathia is going to go. Now if you know why we got Sabathia its because he wouldn't sign until he is on the free agent market. When he gets on the free agent market he will more than likely bring in one of the bigest contracts for a pitcher in the history of baseball. And even if the brewers could offer him that kind of money, he still wouldn't stay. In milwaukee he will never get the press coverage that he wants or will recieve as a yankee, redsox, dodger, or even though i hate to say it Cub. Staying on the topic of pitching our bull pen you say we need to "find some new Guns" great statement, not do you remember last year????? Who wants to go find Turn BLOW again? last off season the brewers went out and tried to revamp their bullpen but it is not something that is easly done. With all of that said we still are a head and shoulders above where we were at this time last year... Next topic Rickie Weeks, what team in their right mind would give up anything for him? No one and thats why we don't trade him, thats why we brought in durham to hopefully help mentor and light a fire under him. And if you want the brewers to fire Ned Yost i ask you to look back five years at those brewers and at our current team. Stop complaining and enjoy the Ride, OCTOBER BASEBALL IS COMMING TO MILWAUKEE.,. and it could be 26 more years before we see the playoffs. GO CREW GO

Wow man. Harsh words son. I am a Brewers fan, dude. But that doesn't mean I can't want for more. I was talking about trying for more than just a one year spike in wins. I want Milwaukee to be the powerhouse it could be. And the Weeks thing is wishful thinking. There are some teams like Seattle who might like a guy like Weeks. But hey. Your a "true" crew fan right? I'm just a "wannabee" I guess

Are you going to put down Sheets because he can't get any wins? That's because whenever he's on mound, the offense is on hibernation. His ERA this season is only below 3, not like that's good or anything. Plus, he hasn't even pitched in September that much lately. -_-
