1 Ohio State - have everything; the strong defense, the coach, the grinding running game, the experienced quarterback and the new and exciting quarterback who may make us forget Vince Young

2 Florida - 17 returning starters - great QB - maybe a little vulnerable on defence - but offense should exceed last 2 years

3 West Virginia - improving defence, chip on shoulders from perceived lack of respect, new offensive wrinkles to help protect QB - vulnerable if 2 or 3 key players injured

4 Missouri - new kid on the block in Big 12 - ahead of Oklahoma here because of easier schedule - no Okla or Tex tech - until championship game -

5 Georgia - below Florida because of schedule - acually this is as high as I could possibly put them - expect at least 2 - if not 3 - regular season losses

6 Oklahoma - probably still better than Missouri - and have all of their tougher games at home - Texas, Tex tech, Cin, TCU - if undefeated would vault over WV and other potential undefeateds to face Ohio St in championship game

7 Clemson - has all the weapons on offence and all the monster talent on defence to win all the games they play this year - but cannot climb over teams with equal records like Ohio St, Ga, Okla - so - no realistic chance for BCS title game - but Orange bowl likely - unless Virg Tech says differently

8 USC - may seem a little low to some west coasters - but, hey - they haven't been proving anything on the field lately - and winning the Pac-10 isn't as impressive as it once was - although the league clearly improved last year - and may be better this year. Probably need to go undefeated to reach championship

9 Texas Tech - just a little bit of defence could go a long way toward an amazing season for these guys - potential record-breaking offence - can you picture 50 to 60 touch downs for the QB?

10 LSU/Kansas - both beat VT - LSU more impressively - but LSU also lost more personell - so I call them even for now - but both may be the 3rd best teams in their respective conferences

If Ohio St can get past USC - its all downhill from there. I rate Penn St number 2 in the Big 10 - but still at this point would call Ohio St about a 16 point favorite over them if they palyed today.
