I almost forgot I joined this place (and blog on it, too!!!), so it's time to delve into the football season for the Hoos.
Such as it is...
I was always of the belief that a Virginia-Southern Cal matchup in football was on a scale with Halley's Comet...meaning you'd never live long enough to see it even once in your lifetime. Lo and behold, tomorrow afternoon @ 3:30 Eastern time, it happens.
So also, does the countdown to Al Groh's eventual firing.
Here's how I see it: unless Virginia goes to a BCS bowl this year, this will be Al Groh's final year coaching the Cavs. Unless Craig Littlepage has a Mariah Carey-style meltdown, there's no way in this God's green earth he keeps "Baby Tuna" around past this year. It's that simple.
I don't even want to predict this season, to be honest. I'd just want to have the over/under on when Al gets fired...cause I don't see him lasting the season. I see him fired before the VA Tech game in November. Any bets??
My only question is, is anyone clamoring to get this job (should this happen)?? I don't see anybody beating down the door to Littlepage's office, begging for an prospective interview. Let's face it, Al's done one whale of a job destroying George Welsh's legacy @ UVA...so why should this debacle of a season about to commence be any different??
(Now watch, it'll be just my luck Al runs the table...)

i think after the season ends hes gone. but dont forget that we lost to wyoming last year. we were able to turn things around. arkansas lost 70-17 to usc last year and they were able to turn it around as well. i dont know what will happen with this years team
