"First off. The whole Patriots thing. Come on man. This isn't hard. You take away a first round draft pick. La di da. They had the 7th overall pick anyway. So you let em take a much higher draft pick....Then they shoulda been banned from playoff contention."

That pick was part of a trade, and as such, has ramifications that extend beyond Spygate. Objectively, the seventh pick wasn't what the Patriots earned. They earned the 31st pick, that's the highest pick the NFL should penalize.

This says nothing of the fact that the Patriots have shown to profit greatly from their first round picks anyway. They are going to suffer from not having one, because they're drafting Logan Mankins-like ability far more often than they're drafting Chad Jackson. I think the penalty had teeth and was an equal punishment for the actions the Patriots took. Removing them from the playoffs is far too extreme. The suggestion of that is ridiculous.

You mean after his four-game suspension, right? And the eight-game suspension he had last season? If you don't think docking a player one third of his entire paycheck for two years isn't a severe penalty, you either make billions of dollars a year, or you don't make anything at all.

"Brandon Marshall will serve all of one day of his original 4 week suspension. I know that we as a society are very lax when it comes to people who are in the news but come on."

He was originally given a three-game suspension that would be reduced to two if he underwent counseling. His appeal got it dropped to one game, but he's still getting fined two game checks. It's not being reduced to a day, he's missing an entire week, and he's playing for free for 12 percent of the season. Again, that's quite a bit. And also, I think the punishment fit the crime.

Why can't he? Laws in the U.S. allow people to be named whatever they feel they should be, and I don't think the NFL can take precedent over that.

Yeah, it's immoral and indecent to name himself after two numbers in another language. Oh, the humanity!

He's always called himself Eight Five, never Eighty Five. What difference does it make, anyway? Get off your holier-than-thou soap box, it's a publicity stunt, not a language lesson. Do you honestly think the fact he isn't writing it (technically) correctly was an oversight? The rapper 50 Cent commonly goes by Fiddy, but no one cares about that.

I don't even know what to say to that. If my blog is so bad man don't read it. If it's so bad write your own. So you dissagree with me? This is me caring. I'm just putting my own opinion here. No need to pick it apart. Calm down man. I'm not a sports writer, just a regular ol' sports watcher.
