Dallas doesnt have many problems headed into the regular season.  But, if they do have a probelm, its at Wide Receiver.  The guy I think Dallas should get insnt named Boldin or Johnson.  His name is Clayton.

After a great rookie year, Clayton has really taken a step back over the last several years.  I think a change of scenery would really help.  Dallas would trade a conditional draft pick to Tampa, so if Clayton doesnt work out, the Cowboys wouldnt have to give up much at all.  However, if Clayton does revert back to old form, this could be a great move for the Cowboys.

There is no doubt he has the skills to be a great NFL wide receiver.  He has shown that. If Jason garret and Ray Sherman can get Clayton turned around, Dallas would have found its number to receiver to Terrel Ownes.  If not, and Clayton proves to be an even bigger bust in Dallas, the Cowboys caould cut him lose and not give up anything at all...

I think trading a conditional pick for Michael Clayton is a great idea and could really put the Cowboys over the top. They have nothing to lose.

Great idea. Although Clayton is as available as Johnson, Boldin, and Moss. Which is to say he's not up for trade. Gruden crushed that rumor last week. Better to check the waiver wire and FA market to fill in. No need to get a high cost trade when Austin is coming back soon.

Nyeh....

Have you ever noticed how some receivers just never have a good guy to "compliment" them, as the phrase has it? I'm thinking of Steve Smith in CAR, Terrell Owens in SF (after Rice left) and again in Philly. Every year the team will make offseason trades or acquisitions in the draft or free agency to try and bring in that second receiver to take the heat off the primary guy. I remember Sterling Sharpe in GB. Do you even remember who was across from him? ...it's kind of a trick question, because there is no single answer. Every year, it was somebody new.

The point I'm making here is that I believe that certain receivers just can't get along if they're not THE guy who gets all the catches. I think TO is one of those players. The Cowboys can bring in anyone they want, and that guy will never produce. It's kind of like how Muhsin Muhammed called Chicago "the place where receivers go to die"... well, another of those places a traveling zone on the opposite side of the formation from Owens.

I disagree. Terry Glenn had an 1000 yard season with TO before he hurt his knee. And Witten is a great tight end, and his stats are great each year.

YOU NEED SPELL CHECK.

But you are right, Clayton would be a low-cost alternative #2 WR to TO.

Huh, 3 months later, they picked up Roy Wiliams.
