Ahhh number 80. Dang. Well I've gotten into some different stuff from what I'm normally in, some by the same artists but different material. Just like to show some songs and get some thoughts on them. This'll be a deluxe edition with a few more than normal. 3 songs here are from cds I recently bought.

High Hopes-Pink Floyd

The last track on "The Division bell." It's Pink floyd's last night, and if you can tell by the song, lacks the prescense of Roger Waters. I just get a feeling every time I listen to it, from the bells, to the high chords of the piano, and hitting a high point when Gilmour's smooth and wonderful voice belts out "the grass was greener." The CD was pretty good, but I was surprised to hear it was named the best album of 1994.

Cat's in the Cradle-Harry Chapin

This song is touching, from the dad and the sun's relationship throught their lives and the story it tells and the pride that wells in the heart of the father. I sang this in Karaoke last night, yeah I know what you're thinking, yikes.

Peace Frog-The Doors

Haven't listened to this much, just another cool tune by the doors. I'm listening to a whole lot of them lately.

Welcome home-Metallica

Welcome to where time stands still
No one leaves and no one will
Moon is full, never seems to change
Just labeled mentally deranged
Dream the same thing every night
I see our freedom in my sight
No locked doors, no windows barred
No things to make my brain seem scarred

Sleep, my friend, and you will see
That dream is my reality
They keep me locked up in this cage
Can't they see it's why my brain says "rage"

I've always loved Metallica's lyrics, so angry, yet an be beautiful in an odd way.

Paradise by the Dashboard Light-Meat Loaf

Let me sleep on it! Oh don';t we all love the commercial where the kid asks his dad for the go phone. I just realized what song that was the other day when I listened to "bat out of hell" for the first time, which btw I loved.

My Wife-The Who

This isn't one of the major hits off Who's Next, but I love it anyway. It's kind of funny in a way, and I love how the (trumpet I believe?) blares. Daltrey has some awesome energy in this song.

Vincent-Don McLean

I actually like this one more than American Pie, even though American Pie is probably better. *Waits for Lifer*

Do I Do-Stevie Wonder

I've loved Stevie Wonder for 4 years, since the first time I heard "Sir Duke".  Just a small hit among many great ones. He may not be your definition of rock but hey, he is in the rock and roll hall of fame, (As is Madonna*shudders*)

I will add links later. Going now.

No one uses the links. Just make the names of the songs blue and no one will notice.

I ALMOST got a shirt with that Pink Floyd cover on the front today, but they didn't have my size.

So I got a Hendrix one instead.

Damn them, how could they do such a thing? Floyd pwns. Yeah I've been getting into Hendrix a bit more, but not much.

"I was surprised to hear it was named the best album of 1994."

Who named The Division Bell that? Curious. I think it's one of the weakest Pink Floyd albums. Not bad, but not up to par with most of their other stuff.
