For those of you who watched the game Saturday night or even just saw the score of this game, let me say WOW!!! I'm a die hard Alabama Fan and was not expecting this to be a blowout. I thought it would be a tough fought game decided in the 4th quarter, but what happened was a lopsided game that was pretty much decided at the end of the first quarter.
(John Parker Celebrating The first Touchdown of the Game to go up 13-0)
34-10 was the last thing i expected for the game to be. But those aren't the only numbers that will surprise you. Let me take you to look at the "wow" statistics.
Clemson had 0 net rushing yards. James Davis and C.J Spiller had a COMBINED 20 yards of rushing. ( the 20 were taken off from the 3 sacks that Bama recorded) John Parker looked nearly flawless going 22/30 (73%) with 180 yards with 3 total TD's. 2 passing and 1 rushing. Freshman Sensation Julio Jones had 4 catches for 28 yards and a Touchdown reception. And TE Nick Walker had 7 receptions for 67 yards and a Touchdown. And the surprise Freshman of the the night was none other than Mark Ingram. 17 carries for 96 yards ( not to mention a succesful 2 point conversion run) Also Coffee had 17 touches for 90 yards.
(Mark Ingram on a carry.)
Alabama just dominated the game on both sides of the ball. The O' line pushed clemson's back and gave Alabama's running backs huge holes to run through. And the Tides RB's ran strong and fought for every yard. And the Big Ugly's up front gave JP time to throw the ball and they gave up 0 sacks and only 3 hurry ups.
On the defensive side, Alabama recored 3 sacks on Cullen Harper. Big Juco Transfer Terrence Cody clogged up the middle giving the Running back tandem of Spiller and Davis no room to run. Alabama stopped the run early and made Cullen harper have to throw which led to an interception by Marquis Johnson.
(Brandon Deadrick sacks Cullen Harper)
Alabama fans had plenty to cheer about, Clemson fans not so much. Besides a long catch and run by Jacoby Ford, which only led to a field goal, and Spillers 96 yard kick return, it was the tide making a big impact. The Tide only didn't score on 2 possesions, a missed field goal and a punt.
Is the Alabama just this good or is Clemson Just that bad? I think its too early to tell but Alabama looked like they were ready to play and made very few mistakes. Clemson can still win the ACC but there National Title dreams are pretty much over (but theres been a 2 loss team win it before) We'll know how good Bama does against Georgia on the 27th "between the hedges".

But Bama played hard and with toughness and with physicality. Thats Bama Football. Roll Tide!!!!!!
And I'll be doing a recap of each of Bama's games. Next week: Tulane Also please leave your comments.
