I am through and through, a Virginia Tech fan. There, i said it. It's painful to say sometimes, like now shortly after a tough loss to ECU. a young team, poor tackling, reversed beamerball. call it what you will but this loss is a result of an inability to change. the entire landscape of college football is changing before our eyes. if you're blind to see it, i pity you. i introduce to the blind.... the spread offense.
May i introduce to you Bryan Stinespring, Virginia Tech's offensive coordinator. I have season tickets and for a while noww i have been suffering under what is a poor example of an offensive coordinator. I have seen great offensive talent be choked out by a man who will simply not adapt to the game. Beamer recruits the majority of his players from the eastern portion of Virginia, which with all racism aside, is prodominantly black. And still with racism aside, black people are fast. so i ask, whats the point of recruiting speed if your not going to use it? tech has fast players consistently every year. the only effective way to utilize this talent is to use the spread offense.
my history class is almost over so i will go ahead and wrap this up. bottom line, Frank Beamer needs to get off the 90s bull crap and fire stinespring. tyrod taylor, a dual threat qb, needs to be the starter, and Virginia Tech must hire a spread offense running coordinator. this decision alone will take tech to the level that it can be at. im not knocking the program at all. 15 straight bowls and 3 straight 10 win seasons are great. but why rest on that... why not strive for more.
tdizz out!
