In the excitement over Joey Logano's Cup debut Saturday night @ Richmond, it would be easy for me to forget that another important cog in the JGR machine will be making his big-time NASCAR debut as well that afternoon.
But then, I wouldn't have anything to write on here, now would I??
Marc Davis, who was Joey's teammate last year in the Camping World Series (formerly known as the Busch East Series)...and who still races in that series...makes his Craftsman Truck Series debut driving the #81 truck for Randy Moss Motorsports. And yes, Marc does happen to be black, BTW.
While I can sit here and question Randy Moss' committment on the football field, I'll be the first on here to congratulate him for taking a bold step to blur the color line in NASCAR. No matter what Marc does on Saturday, he's already won one race--to pick up the mantle Bill Lester dropped in the Truck Series, making sure blacks are well represented on the track and pit road.
Of course, everything this weekend @ Richmond is "weather permitting"...meaning, the remnants of hurricane Hanna will play havoc with the schedule(s).
Plan accordingly, people...
