Try it. Do a search on Google with either Charlie Weis(Notre Dame Coach), Notre Dame football or the like. Go to the bottom of the article and read the comments.

Last year, the team went 3-9, the second worse season in Notre Dame football history. People want Weis to be fired so bad, that non fans have now turned to personal attacks. When you read the comments, some classless people often from Ohio State, Michigan or USC can only talk about Charlie's physical attributes and joke about it. If not for Charlie Weis, then you will hear the Notre Lame, NotreShame or the stupidity of NBC renewing its contract again.

I am at the point where as I do my daily readings about ND on different news networks, i get seriously aggravated. If people want to attack ideas, all is fair. Charlie has had his share of problems with regards to team preparation, play calls etc. But the weight issue is a big no-no in my book.

Help me understand here. Do people attack the person because they are too weak to attack the ideas?

Here is a coach that has Super Bowl rings, that took a class that Ty Willingham couldn't win with and made it perform. Give the man a break, Give the team a break and let the game play on the field. He will turn this team around, and show that you can take a bad situation and make it better. There is a good lesson there.

For the ones that are just haters to be haters, Notre Dame has one of the most storied past in College Football and it is as much part of the history of the sport in the US in general, as it is of the institution of Notre Dame itself.

I for one, am a fan because of the latter point. For all it embodies, its history, the players, the four horseman, the "snow bowl" and others, are all part of not only the story of ND football, but part of the American story about college football. As much as the haters want to scream, this team is really Team America!

A couple if points, 1. Good Blog, never anything wrong with defending your team. 2. Try not to let people on FN get to you, I know its hard, but take it for what it is, a few solid football fans with great knowledge and passion, and the other thousand or complete idiots.

I would like to see ND rebound and be a power again, I dont know if Wies is the answer, I haven't watched enough games to call it either way.

The fat jokes are just that, jokes, sophmoric, immature, tasteless, yes. I dont think they are insulting the man as much as the postion he holds at the University...Just some thoughts, but good stuff!

Thanks. I am a true fan and you really see the true fans of any teams when the team is being tested through hard times, as it is now with ND fans. I very much appreciate your comments.

This is a good blog. I wouldn't let some of the ND bashers here get you down. Some of them just make jokes because they have nothing else to say.

hey(canadianism), I am all for good relations....when I lose, i have no problem admitting,....OSU has a great team this year, and it was the first team i picked in my pool....although I still have the aftertaste of the bowl game 2 years ago where Troy Smith and AJ Hawk(i think)..showed us how to play the game...but we'll be back...

well, from what I hear these days, if Beanie Wells shows up against USC, you might be in good shape to have a big bowl game comes January

The first college football I ever went to was ND back in 93, I was a big fan after that until high school, then I became a fan of whoever was recruiting me at the time...
