I know the title of my post confused you. It confused me at first too but let me try to put some sense into it. If the lakers are so desperate to add a Defensive Presence at the SF position, How does Kobe Bryant at SF sound? Hmmm, what happens to Odom? That's where Ben Gordon comes in. People have been talking about the Lakers championship collapse and most of the blame directs to either Pau Gasol's softness and Lamar Odom's slump. Odom is LA's most valauble trading chip(actually Bynum is but you would have to pint a gun at Mitch Kupchak's head before he trades him). Odom is a star, he is not a superstar but he is a pretty descent NBA player. He can grab a ton of rebounds, he can penetrate and he can dribble like a PG BUT BUT BUT, with a healthy bynum a scorer like kobe and a veteran PG in Fisher Odom's abilities would be less needed. He improves the lakers in a lot of way's but his Mediocre D and "I could care less" personality pull's the team downwards instead of improving it. His good season and OK playoff's was overshadowed by the mediocre championship series against the celtics. he was outpowered and outplayed by Kendrick Perkins. Come on now. You are always remembered for the plays that count the most. Just look at AROD. I know it is not fair but that's just how it goes. WAIT WAIT WAIT, let's go exactly 2018.30 miles away to the Windy City where the bulls who where just a favorite to at least contend in the east or where viewed as some to be Championship Material where sucking more than any other Chicago Sports Franchise. The Bulls who where just in the playoffs a year ago whre making headlines, for sucking. So what does this have to do with the lakers? The Bulls made moves to bolster they're chances for the future by Signing Derrick Rose to be they're point guard for the future, Trading away they're migraine of a signing Ben Wallace and in the process acquiring the Cavs own disappointment in Larry Hughes and another forward in Drew Gooden, Signing another forward Luol Deng to a new contract and trusting a rookie Joakim Noah with the Center duties. Wait, something doesnt seem right. Oh yeah, what happenes to they're 2004 1st round pick, they're SG Ben Gordon. They offered hiom 50Mil for 5 years which he turned down hoping to make it big in his free agent year but it didn't turn out as planned. They're now offering him 6.5million for this year and a chance to be an unrestricted freeagent next year. In short they want at least a bargain. But Gordon is not biting. He shouldn't. Leading your team in scoring doesn't lead to an insulting contract at the end of the year. He's not in there plans, and the feeling is mutual. He played his last game in a bulls jersey but what jersey would he be wearing next? Wouldn't a Ben Gordon, wearing a no. 7 jersey but this time on Purple and gold be just oh so sweet and a Lamar Odom who could still play on a no. 7 jersey, but this time on a bulls jersey be nice too?

 And now the complicated part.

The Bulls are overloaded in the Forward position with the unproven Tyrus Thomas, Cedric Simmons?,Andres Nocioni,Drew Gooden and the newly signed Luol Deng. What would they do with Odom? Aqcuiring Odom would make Thomas, Simmons? and Gooden expandable and that would mean that the bulls can use those players to make a package in order to acquire a proven Center which is what they need. The East is loaded with strong big men and that is what the Bulls need. Odom can now leave up to his Scotty Pippen comparisons. They would at least get something instead of losing Gordon for nothing.

The Bulls Starting Lineup would be:

C-Joakim Noah/ or whoever they would acquire

PF-Lamar Odom

SF-Andres Nocioni

SG-Larry Hughes

PG-Derrick Rose /Kirk hinrich_unless Rose doesn't mature fast enough but I highly doubt it)

That would leave they're bench with Hinrich,Simmons?,Sefolosha,Nichols?,Gray?,and Gooden. Not bad. This "PROPOSED TEAM" should be enough to challenge the east or at least make a deep run in the playoffs.

Now for the Lakers:

 Pulling of a sign and trade for Gordon would make a lot of sense for the Lakers. I know a lot of you would disagree but this is my blog, my opinion, my say. The lakers could move Kobe Bryant to SF which wouldn't be that  much of an adjustment for him because he can score on anyone and he can guard the likes of lebron james and Carmelo Anthony. This improves they're D at the SF position and gain more offense and outside shooting in the process.(Not like they need it) The projected lineup would be:

C-Andrew Bynum

PF-Pau Gasol

SF-Kobe Bryant

SG-Ben Gordon

PG-Derek Fisher/Jordan Farmar

With they're bench being Trevor Ariza, Joe Crawford(R),Coby Karl,Chris Mihm, Dwayne Mitchell, Josh Powell, Vladimir Radmanovic, Sun Yue, Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton. Not bad right? they're still a little weak behind bynum but the Zen master would figure that out.

If the teams can figure this out financially and they think that both clubs can benfit from a deal, I think that they both should pull this off. Bulls acquire a veteran star while the lakers can improve in one of there weakness internally while not really losing the offense and defense that they would be giving up.
