What the heck.  I read a blog from Stowe, I read a blog from NC, now Prodigy is going around posting it in the TD's.  Owe the TD's are unfair, people vote wrong, booohhhoooooo!!!!

Trust me, go home and tell your wife about your TD record and I can guarantee that she wont care.  Guys, it does not matter.  I used to gripe about it to get others fired up, now its become serious and people are "leaving" over it.  Get a life people.  Get a life.

You know what is great about Fannation???? The fact that I can gain Bill knowledge from a Bill fan.  I can gain Yankee knowledge from a Yankee fan.  Not that I care, but heck I can gain Buc, Skins, Cowgirls, Nebraska, Colarodo, or any other kind of knowledge from a true fan.  A True Bill fan can direct me on what to expect from them much more than any old sports writer.

If you really want to know what ruined this site???? It happened around August 2007 when people first started crying about vote for the arguments.  That turned this into an English/ Social Networking site.  However; that's fine with me as I still get to gain all sorts of great sports Info from a structured paragraph.

If you want a voting gripe here it is:  The TD is who is better Joe or John.  I argue 3 times and my opponent argues 3 times in an effort to convince, not impress with grammer..  When I vote it is who I believe is the better QB.  If  this were how it worked wed only be doing TD's we believed in (which is how the site once was) and it was much better.  There was heat and passion which is what makes sports great.  However; I am perfectly fine with the way it is today as it still passes the time at work.

Lets quit whining like the TD record matters.  Lets get back to discussing sports (as we see them) in a heated manner.

It's not about the TD records. I could not care less about my record, as evidenced by past adventures. It has to do with acknowledging a solid argument from an astute sports fan. When that goes away because of duplicate accounts, and voting based upon the ACTUAL social networking that's happening - you lose those people feeding you knowledge who are disenchanted with the process. It's cause and effect. Those people won't stay as long as things continue to be a joke.

Here is my point Frank

my caring about the TD ENDS the second it is over.

unless I go back to say I told you so.

But DURING the TD- I care. a LOT

I didn;t get to tell you this YEST- but after my Blog I was pretty Bummed out-

Until OUR TD- and the Tree vs the Beaver Mascot got me back going again.

Thanks Frank, you helped more than you know.

And yet you got in NMI... Go figure

September 4, 2008  01:49 PM ET

It's never been about the TD records Frank...it's more about the drunk monkeys we have for mods now and the users that make this site a pain in the butt opposed to the fun it used to be.

I used to put great effort into my TDs or blogs but it never mattered. I thouroughly enjoyed spewing knowledge, but when all TDs end up being b8tch sessions in the comments and no one takes the time to read the arguments or the blogs and there are no good TDs anymore (all they are are pro rasslin ones or by people who couldn't spell CAT if you gave them the CAT out of order and just needed them to arrange it correctly) - that is when the site lost its appeal.

I really enjoyed TDing against you and the other NMI members, I knew that the TD would be great...however, there would be 6 pages of comments about voting, but only 12 votes total...that is when TDing stopped mattering at all.

I didn't care about TD records, but I did liked to beat the best (beating Porkins was fantastic for example)....but you can't beat the best so to speak if no one is even bothering to vote anymore on the good TDs but a pro rasslin TD will get over 20 votes.

Sure are a lot of people on this site , just to kill time at work. Where are all the employers and are there any openings, I could kill a couple hours a day and get paid. Sweet gig.

Loved the competition that was inherent to TDs...but the competition is rigged more than the Olympics...

September 4, 2008  02:20 PM ET

I've only been around a short while, but I think that this site would have more participation if the real sports fans could have heated, at least semi-intellegent arguements concerning the topics they have an opinion about.

September 4, 2008  02:22 PM ET

I realized a long time ago, that people never vote for arguments. However, I agree with what NC said in his blog yesterday that you mentioned...the problem isn't that people don't vote for the arguments, the problem is that when Cass voted for one side in the TD, you had people promising a GROUP of votes to the other just to counter 1 vote from Cass....is that fair? To lose 20 votes to your opponent just because Cass voted for you or vice versa...yes records don't mean squat, but they are part of the fun of TDing and if people will vote for your opponent, just because someone they don't like voted for you, what has this site become?

TENNESSEE!!!

Frank, I seem to remember you whining alot last fall about voting etc. Seems to me that's what you accused Bombers of daily until he finally left.

Just sayin...

The point is, the TD used to be a fun diversion. Of course the W-L records don't mean a thing..no question.

The point you miss though is that people do take some time putting the TD together. All to often that time gets wasted. I've chosen to stop TD'ing as well unless the mood strikes me to put together a parody.

It's not winning or losing that was important, it was putting together an argument that you hoped was convincing enough to make others see your point. But if no one cares enough to read them, or turns the TD into a chat room flame war, why bother?

I don't particularly like you, but I have to say I agree with you 100% that people should quit bitching like TDs mean anything besides some numbers next to their name that no one besides a couple other way too serious people will care about.
