If you're like me, you have, from time to time, dreamed of being a sportscaster. I enjoy listening to good broadcasters. The best ones will paint an excellent picture of the action without trying too hard. Personally, I am partial to guys on the radio for a number of reasons. There are a large number of excellent announcers on TV, though, and I will give them their do. Inherently, I love most of the guys in Colorado. I hear them all the time, so I am very familiar with them, and we are blessed to have some excellent broadcasters. Here are the guys that I would nominate for best and worst:

Best Sportscasters:

Jack Corrigan, Colorado Rockies Radio (Formerly Cleveland Indians TV)

Gary Thorne, ESPN TV and Radio, Baltimore Orioles Radio

Joe Buck, FOX

Dan Dierdorf, CBS

Wayne Hagin, NY Mets Radio

Jerry Schemmel, Denver Nuggets Radio

Mike Haynes, Colorado Avalanche TV

Peter McNab, Colorado Avalanche TV

Mitch Holthus, Kansas City Chiefs Radio

Steve Phillips, ESPN

Bob Brenley, Chicago Cubs TV

Ernie Harwell, Formerly of Detroit Tigers Radio

Rachel Nichols, ESPN Reporter

Al Michaels, NBC

Dick Enberg, CBS

Dave Campbell, ESPN

Worst Broadcasters:

Doug McLeod, NHL

Mike "Doc" Emrick, NBC and New Jersey Devils TV

Peter Ruttgaizer, Colorado Avalanche Studio Host

Orel Hershiser, ESPN

Ray Ferraro, Edmonton Oilers TV

Ken Harrelson, Chicago White Sox TV

Eric Young, ESPN

Tim Kurkjian, ESPN

Shaun King, ESPN

Phil Simms, CBS

Bryant Gumbel, NFL Network and HBO
