The Golden State Warriors denied sending trainer Tom Abdenour to Mississippi to investigate Monta Ellis' injury, because he had a questionable explanation. According to the Warriors, Abdenour is in South Africa participating the in Basketball without Borders campaign.
Former All-Star Jamaal Magloire signed with the Miami Heat and is expecting to get 20-ish minutes as a back-up to starting center Mark Blount.
Probably the biggest news other than the HOF inductees: Manu Ginobli had successful surgery! Though he will miss a few games on crutches, he will come back from the injury he suffered in the Olympics playing for Argentina.
