The Wolverines were clearly more comfortable with the new offense this week. While the performance was still not great, it was definitely better. Steven Threet started the 3rd quarter, but was again replaced by Nick Sheridan with the same mixed results. Sheridan played most of the 4th quarter. Both QB's looked slightly improved, and both struggled with the mid-range and deep ball, relying mostly on screens and short passes. The D-line remained quite impressive, but the defense in general really got lucky. The Red Hawks continued to make silly mistakes, mostly dropping easy passes and barely over-throwing their receivers. Dick Rod got his first win as UM Head Coach...if you can call it that. Michigan gets the decision 16-6, but they didn't so much win it as Miami really lost it for themselves. One or two less miscues and one or two wide open passes that weren't dropped and Miami could have had the win. All in all, there was some definite improvement and it's going to help that they got their first win under their belts.
