The Pirates came out full steam and high on their win over Virginia Tech, never slowing down as they bludgeoned the West Virginia Mountaineers.

East Carolina drew first blood as their relentless running game steam rolled the West Virginia defense. Jonathan Williams ran the ball into victory land at 6:02 in the first quarter. Little did we know, that was only the beginning.

As we waited for the Mountaineers to answer, heisman hopeful Pat White fumbled the ball on the rush, and Pirate defender Jay Ross recovered the ball. Pirates kicker Ben Ryan booted a beautiful 42 yard field goal, 10-0 Pirates.

West Virginia was held to a single field goal made by Pat McAfee in the second quarter. With 24 seconds left in the first half, manna rained from heaven, as Patrick Pinkney connected with Alex Taylor in the back of the end-zone for a 13-yard touchdown completion. In the second half Jonathan Williams stormed into the end-zone again to seal the deal for the Pirates, 24-3. East Carolina never gave in, and allowed "No Quarter" for the baffled Mountaineers.

Personal Note: I'm proud to say, today I was officially birthed into the Pirate Nation. There is no greater feeling than the energy of the forty thousand faithful. The Pirate Nation once again showed that heart runs deeper than ranking and no one is safe from walking the plank.

Congratulations my Pirate brethren and GO PIRATES!
