It's been a while, but The Zou is back after the dominating win against overmatched Southeast Missouri State. The Tigers won 52-3 and had the backups in after half. The offense looked great with Chase Daniel at the helm as the Tiger starting QB set a record for a single game quarterback rating at Mizzou. He was 16 for 17 and the one incompletion was catchable. He threw for three touchdowns, keeping his Heisman profile nearly spotless. The defense allowed one big drive in the first half but blocked a field goal. Sean Weatherspoon got a pick six in back to back games. The line didn't get too much pressure on SEMO's QB, but the rest of the defense certainly made up for it. The offense as a whole looked unstoppable except when true freshman Blaine Gabbert was in. This is to be expected however, as he is only a freshman. I really liked Jerrell Jackson, a true freshman that had 70 yards receiving in his first action. JUCO defensive end Brian Coulter looked as good as advertised but he has been injured. I expect him to get more and more playing time as the year goes on. In other news, this past week redshirt freshman Michael Keck quit the team for personal reasons. He may or may not return. William Moore did not play in the game but Jeremy Maclin did. Although he didn't do too much, he did get one receiving touchdown. Chase Coffman was Daniel's main option in the first half, and he had his weekly hurdle.

That's about it for this edition, I will try to have a preview for the upcoming game vs. Nevada this week....
