Today there were format changes made to FN.  Many, many, MANY people don't like it, me being one of them.  However, i am writing this blog to set those many people straight.

You see, the reason why alot of these people don't like the new layout is because they are used to how things were and would rather have that than taking time to get used to the nuances of the new format.  In other words, their attitude is "Change is bad."  Change is not bad. Not in everything.  However, here are MY reasons for NOT liking the new format.

I can get to learn the nuances and figure everything out, as far as comments, TDs, blogs, etc.  The REASONS I DON'T like the changes are the following:

1) The format was not broken; dont fix what isnt broken.

2) The other issues, like idiot users and dupe accounts, have not been addressed.

3) The blogs and group threads are all public now, whereas before blogs could only be read on profiles if the profile was set to public, or in private groups if you were a member of that group.

3a)  For example, I have met alot of people and feel comfortable with people in alot of groups, (i.e, Daywalkers, Rumor Mill, Buc's Place, etc) that alot of us can talk to each other personally and about other things rather than sports.  Now that EVERYONE has access to what I can say in a thread is going to clam me up about talking about other things than sports. I am sure others agree with me on this.

4)The Community page is gone.

5) T&R, Most Active Users, and other needless things (needless to me anyway) are forced upon me on the homepage, even if I don't care to look at these things.  It is hard to ignore them or not pay attention when they are right in front of me.

6) FN didnt give an OPTION to revert to the old format or keep the new one like plenty of other sites have done that have changed formats (i.e, MSN, Yahoo, Google, Ask.com, MLB.com, NFL.com, even ESPN.com for God's sake!!)

These are my list of grievances with the new site. I encourage EVERYONE who has problems with this format to also write blogs with lists of grievances.

Thank you.
