To all of you STL Die hards. I need to ask you all something.
Now most of you know that I don't live in Missouri, yet. My wife and I are looking into buying a house in Missouri and staying forever. Need a better place to raise the kids other than the east coast. Missouri is the only place that I want to live. Here is my question, or should I say questions:
I know that every big city has a terrific fan base. For those of us who are Cardinals freaks (me included), I don't think I need to go further. But my question is about the Rams, Blues and the minor league affilates as well as the local, home grown clubs. What kind of fan base can I expect from each of these clubs?
I grew up in California, near Oakland, (around the Oakland A's, Raiders, the SF Giants and 49ers)and have no intention of moving back. Missouri is my love and none other. Being away from the big cities and not having a worry other than providing for the family after military life is my top priority.
I retire from the military in 2014 after joining in 1991 after high school. I served in the Navy (12+ years on board the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN CVN-72, and a ship named after Missouri's native son, USS HARRY S TRUMAN CVN-75). The latter I have had the pleasure of meeting Senator Ike Skelton. What a marvelous fellow he is.
I agree that is a loooong time for one person, but being able to defend the Stars and Stripes has been the greatest call I have ever been able to answer. And once I retire from the military, I will continue to defend it. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has been my chosen profession outside of the military. I cannot think of anything better to do than to serve and protect those on a state level after going on a national level.
And this is not just for the STL DH's, this is for everyone. Thank you for allowing me to help and for continuing to help. Missouri has called and I am answering her call.
This Johnny will come marching home. And I will make you all proud.
