I am making an unfortunately quick and easy decision to resign my position as ombudsman of FanNation Magazine.

I could cite time, creative differences, a general lack of central vision or a bunch of other junk.

I won't, though. I'm going to cite a complete disinterest in the group, and this offensive, poorly written and utterly ridiculous posting.

The writer took the reader from Sen. Barack Obama to a juvenile feud with a FanNation member, and in doing it, we all achieved a low even sadists didn't dream was possible.

Fortunately, I was one of only 16 people who read it today, so there's less than two dozen people who are now dumber human organisms. While it's disturbing that I have to be one of them, I'll dive on that grenade to ensure you are all forewarned before reading it.

That's not a bad payoff for the freedom of speech, but it's another lesson that one must learn to think, then to read, before bothering to write.

Either way, I just wanted to do this to help a few people learn to critically analyze issues pertaining to sport, and how to use to that accept and refute opinions in a tasteful and entertaining way.

Clearly, my hope for this group and this blog do not fit together. Something's gotta go, so my title's it.
