OK-- so I will admit it... I'm more than a little nervous about Saturday, especially now that Beanie is doubtful for the game. Still I'm somewhat optimistic that, having nothing to lose and everything to gain, Ohio State will pull off the W against USC. (Some would call this crazy; I call it true fandom.)

Excepting games that happen 60+ days after our season typically ends, Ohio State does have the tendency to play up or down to the opponent (which is what I'm using to ease my mind about LAST weekend)... and Tressel and the boys do better when they aren't expected to do anything at all. It's not like there is a dearth of depth or talent on OSU's side of the ball. If we can minimize our mistakes and take advantage of theirs, we may just royally screw the bookmakers in Vegas...

So call me buck-i-nuts if you want, but I will continue to naively hope that we have a shot at taking this game, silencing the West Coast armchair critics and their devoted worshippers in the media. We'll have to wait and see if we'll have a chance to do the same to the Southern ones... let's take things one game at a time.

GO BUCKS!!!!

I gave up on getting nervous about the games...
Sure, we can win this, then its...
Wisconsin...
Penn State...
Illinois with Williams who can complete a dozen passes over 20 yds against a conference contender and put up over 300 yds passing and 31 pts when the opponent was looking for the pass all the way...
Michigan State who can look miserably unprepared and still come within a TD of a team expected to finish in the top 1/3 of their conference...
Who knows how much the youth movement at Iowa has improved...
...not to mention someone else wanting to be the next Pitt or Stanford...
...and there's always Michigan to end the year...

(actually, I haven't memorized the schedule - do we even play all of these teams?)

^^^meant to say illinois who can put up 31 points and over 300 yds passing... in a single half!

All but Iowa... Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan State are away... (eesh-- Camp Randal can be nightmarish for the Bucks.) We also have Minnesota, Purdue, and Northwestern-- anticipating that the first and last on that list will not be TOO tough... You never know with Purdue-- they are the Michigan State of Indiana... ;)

He'll play, USC's defense isn't enough to worry about, Cushing has no hips, he's good linebacker if he's healthy, but Maluaga is all they have.

Good blog buck i girl...I have a feeling that USC is going to roll into this one a little too confident. And if you guys can make a big play early on offense, defense special teams..anything to take the home crowd out of it
