These next two Saturdays for the Dukes of James Madison University should be the real test of how serious a contender they are.
It starts tomorrow, when they play UMass @ 3:30. If you happen to get CN8...that's this little channel the Comcast people set up a number of years ago...you'll be able to see the game. (I have digital cable, and so I get CN8.) The game might be on another channel in the New England area; I'm not sure. Hey, but at least I get to see JMU live for a change.
Just like the following Saturday, when the rematch from last year's 1-AA playoffs takes place. That's right, JMU-Appalachian State on the 20th. Trust me, this ain't gonna be a repeat of the last meeting (when JMU blew the field goal attempt that would've tied the game and sent it to OT).
Gee, I wonder how J. Hova's gonna take it when Rodney Childers throws (and runs) all through that App State defense?? Eh, I'll worry about it next Saturday...

And as I write this (Saturday afternoon), JMU is having a time trying to keep UMass at bay. It's 45-31, JMU, with about 8 1/2 minutes left in the game.
