I have to give it to Thugmeister, he gave me the impetus for this blog.

He left me a comment on my profile section, concerning the "new" FanNation, that contained a question to me. So here's your answer, Thug...and I'll share it with the rest of you, too!!!

Thug asked me, if I remembered a TV-movie called "The Day After". Not only do I remember it, but the plot pretty much mimics the feeling most of us have since Time Warner blindsided us the other day.

Here's the synopsis: the Soviets nuke Lawrence, KS. That's it, basically. But, I can better this. Think "War of the Worlds", gang. (Personally, I like the 1953 version better...you know, when the Martians zap L.A.'s City Hall?? The building that's on the LAPD badges?? But I digress.)

Point was, when the Martians land on Earth, Los Angeles degenerates to total anarchy. (Or, if you're familiar with the radio play, Manhattan...once they zap Grovers Mill, NJ into extinction.) Judging by the number of blogs I've read these last 2 days, it seems a LOT of you are behaving the same way.

Guess what, people?? I'M still here. My blogs/groups are still here. So are some of YOURS. The pogrom that was (and is) the "new" FanNation is over.

("Pogrom" means "purge", gang. Sorry if I confused you.)

So where do we go from here?? For me, I keep writing (and commenting on) blogs. I have no clue what any of you will do.

September 10, 2008 the Day the Earth Stood Still will be remembered in infamy, just kidding guys. Whomever is left here in this brave new world of fan nation I'm hoping that the world of Fan Nation will go back to the way it was before the blindsiders of CNN/SI destroyed our old way of life and instituted this "Big Brother" type of web site for all of us "Clones" without no trace of human interaction. What was the reason and or cause for the changes when everything was working fine back in Kansas Dorothy? I guess the Wizard finally decided to eliminate any and all witnesses to his decadence...

I have already seen a couple of positive changes since the complete overhaul went down. There is a Fanmail link at the top of the screen instead of just profile so you can get to your inbox in one click like before. They put the user blogs ahead of the SI blogs on the blogs page. The throwdown main page has been vastly expanded compared to the way it was on D-Day.

I imagine this is all in respone to user feedback. On the top right portion of the homepage is a grey box stating "Send us feedback about the new site here" This is the place for you guys to list your specific disappointments gang. Writing hate blogs or making hate TDs is a useless endevour.
