Hello everyone, and thank you for reading. I will start by giving some info about me.

My blog will be about the teams of the SEC and NCAA football in general. I plan to do this in an intelligent manner and will try hard not to let my Crimson view point color my opinions too much.

I do know football. And I don't mean from video games (they are OK, but NOTHING like the real game). I am talking about from in the trenches. I started playing the game when I was 8 years old. Finished All-State (1 year), All-County (2 years) and All-Area (1 year). Had scholarship offers, but fears over an injured knee (not much in the way of innovative knee treatment in the late 70's) made me decline and take an academic scholarship to Birmingham-Southern. While I don't regret going to BSC, I will always regret not at least trying NCAA football. I found out I still had the desire and some of the abilities, so I played 4 years of semi-pro ball and loved it. Finally things like job and income got in the way and I had to let it go. But I have never lost my passion or pleasure of the game.

Since then I have had the great pleasure of coaching all levels from Pee Wee to High School. Being an ex-linebacker, defense is my passion and I tend to look more closely at the defensive side of the ball.

I love the passion and emotion of college football. Unlike pro ball, these players still play for the love of the game and not a paycheck. There is still a sense of "Team" and not the egos of the NFL. It is still at a level where the unheralded player can rise up and make an impact based on just desire and hard work. And coaching makes all the difference. For every player that performs poorly, I believe that there is a coach that did not do his job in preparing them better.

At least once a week I will try to update this blog. I welcome your opinions, comments and questions. However, if you behave like an ****, you will be treated like an ****. If you think your team is better than another, then give good reasons not just mindless rhetoric. And if you don't have anymore football sense than that, then take your opinions to another blog. I will not hate on another team just because they are a rival, but instead I will try to point the good - and the bad.

Having said all that, lets enjoy the short season that we have.
