The Tigers had a huge win over Nevada on Saturday, 69-17. Nevada could compete for the WAC title, so that is not some terrible team. The offense looked absolutely unstoppable with Chase Daniel at the helm, and pretty good with backup Chase Patton also. They looked a little shaky with true freshman Blaine Gabbert running the show, but that is to be expected with Gabbert still learning the complex Mizzou offense. Chase Daniel is a leading Heisman candidate at this point, throwing more touchdowns than incompletions in the last two games, which is unbelievable. Jeremy Maclin had a great day receiving and three touchdowns. Derrick Washington was solid again at running back scoring two touchdowns and other Mizzou receivers Jared Perry and Tommy Saunders looked great. Tight end Chase Coffman had a record day and stiff armed five people in one play. The defense gave up seventeen in the first half but they shut down the Nevada Pistol offense in the second half. The special teams were not needed too much but they took care of business. The Tigers next game is a home game against Buffalo at Faurot Field in CoMo. The Buffalo Bulls are coming off of a hail mary victory over Temple, but I don't think they have the talent to compete with the Tigers. Look for the backups to get a lot of time again, before a bye week and then the much anticipated conference opener at Nebraska...(cue scary music) The SEMO and Nevada game highlights can be found on YouTube by searching ZouDave. He does a great job on editing these videos, they are worth five to seven minutes of your time.
