After missing the first week power rankings, I am back up and ready to create controversey! Anyways, commence the debate!
1.) Cowboys- Who can argue, they beat one of the best teams in the league last week and now this week. They are talented on both sides of the ball, but next week they face the toughest game of the year.
2.) Packers- Again, who can argue? Rodgers has been simply unbelievable, 320 yards 3 TD's and a 70 completion percentage, overall 500 yards 4 TD's no picks!! This offense is way to good to stop, and their defense has been able to make the big plays when needed.
3.) Steelers- Strong on both sides of the ball, and with Big Ben having a career year, I am looking for them to only rise further up. Although if Ben is out with that shoulder injury, they could slide quite a bit.
4.) Broncos- Even though they had a controversial win, their offense has torn apart two of the best defenses in the league. Cutler is emerging as the best QB taken in 2006, but can the team keep going with an RB like Selvin Young? Look for them to take a little slide soon.
5.) Panthers- Beating the Bears and Chargers is big news, but whats bigger news is they have done it without steve smith. This is the sole reason they are this high. They have been able to win without their stud who carries the offense, so in my mind, with him back, they can be world beaters.
6.) Giants- Not impressed. Sure they look great, they look like they can win the Super bowl again...wait...they played the Rams and the Redskins, both bottom feeders who will be lucky to win 6 games this year, hell even 5. We will see when they play divsion rival, Dallas if they are really that good.
7.) Cardinals- Warner has returned to MVP form, while Tim Hightower is waiting to take over for Edge. And while their defense has been impressive so far, that side of the ball has yet to be tested against a good offense.
8.) Patriots- Like the Panthers they have been able to win without their stud. Even though that trend wont continue in New England, they for the moment are a very good team, with a very good defense.
9.) Bills- My projected AFC East winner has showed their poise in coming back from a big deficit to beat the Jags. James Hardy and Lee Evans are two powerhouse recievers while Lynch is carrying the ground game. And a very underrated defense has held them in games.
10.) Titans- Like the Giants, I am not impressed. So they beat on the crappy team like the Bengals...so what? Prove to me that you can win without a real QB against a good team.
11.) Eagles- Should have won that game in Dallas. It was theirs to take, but they ultimatley made too many mistakes. And with a younger team that will happen, but the Eagles are a powerhouse right now, look for them to make a run at the division Title.
12.) Colts- Gutsy performance against the Vikings. Showed that their younger players have a lot of poise, and as the season goes on and they get healthier, they will get better.
13.) Saints- Injuries could hurt in the long run, but Henderson and Bush can make up for it on offense. And with their underrated defense they could make a playoff bid.
14.) Bears- They have been solid, they should be 2-0 right now but late game choking didnt help them much. But if they could find even a resemblance of a passing game, this could be a dangerous team, especially with Forte.
15.) Chargers- Could easily be 2-0 right now, but you cant change the past. The best thing for them is to use this as fuel to win the rest of their games. They are still talented and can win their division.
16.) Buccaneers- Griese isnt the answer at QB, but Ernest Graham has been quite the surprise, and he can easily help them win a couple of ball games.
17.) Ravens- Flacco is going to be great. But he is still young and this team is going to have some growing pains with a new coach, although this bye week leaves them well rested.
18.) Jets- Hate to say it but...I told you so. Brett is nothing without the system and players he had in Green Bay. With NY's horrible recieving core, he looks like Drew Bledsoe with a basketball...big, dumb, and white.
19.) 49 er's- O'sullivan has been a decent surprise. And with Gore running wild and their defense stepping up, this team could break .500.
20.) Cleveland- Brady Quinn, welcome to the life of an NFL starter...those are the words we are going to be hearing from Romeo's mouth when they start the season 0-3. But he could be the thing that turns the page for this lackluster team.
21.) Jaguars- Two bad losses, and now going to Indy they face a 0-3 start. But they shouldnt worry, their run game is too strong to be held at bay for more than a couple of weeks. Look for Garrard to take over the game soon to open running lanes.
22.) Redksins- Campbell is not the answer. Get over it, running QB's dont work in the NFL. They need to move on and let their run game, dominate the other team.
23.) Falcons- Michael turners first week was too good to be true, so in week 2 they got a shock, winning on the road is harder than winning at home...duh, yuh think?
24.) Raiders- Running over KC was cool, but it showed nothing, this team has a good D but a pretty bad offense. Russell is nothing, McFadden showed glimpses against an actuall defense in Denver, but nothing special.
25.) Texans- They are my sleeper pick, I think Johnson and this offense can really get it going once their click. And with an improved defense, they can defintley win a lot of ball games.
26.) Vikings- Again hate to say it but...I told you so. SO what if Adrian Peterson can run the ball, their defense is mediocre and their Passing game is the worst in NFL history. They have the potential of being worse than the Rams.
27.) Bengals- Yeah, fire Lewis, trade Johnson and cut Henry. Then start rebuilding from there. The bengals are in big trouble if they dont start making some drastic moves.
28.) Lions- Impressive comeback against the Packers, but ultimatley they found one thing out, Jon Kitna cant be their QB for much longer.
29.) Chiefs- Phasing out LJ? Probably not smart, they just need to get in a rythm and they might win a couple of games, but they are rebuilding and this is what happens.
30.) Rams- Coaching change please! And they need to find a defense...otherwise A-OK!
31.) Seahawks- Bad, awful, terrible...any more synonoums? Anyways, Hasselback really isnt that good, he took advantage of a weak divsion, as did Kerney, as did..well their whole team!
32.) Dolphins- Please, Cleo lemon, come back!!!! The dolphins are beyong saving at this point, we may as well keep polluting the water because they arent making a comeback.

I agree with you on a lot of points but, I do have a bone or two to pick. First the Redskins will finish around 500, they're not that bad of a Favre has a QB rating over 100 he'll be just fine. I would have kept the Eagles in the top 10 too (maybe even the top 5). Outside of that nice, well rationed, and most of all blunt deductions.

I think it's a bit strange to call the Seahawks (mainly Hasselbeck) bad, seeing as they literally have NO receivers, they're using 3rd string QBs and practice squad WRs as their starters!

So last week the Philadelphia Eagles were ranked third, and because of a few bounces of the ball they're now ranked 11? The Dallas Cowboys beat the Giants twice last year IN THE REGULAR SEASON. Do me a favor, ask Michael Strahan if he cares...

So the Eagles are ranked 11th because they lost supposed best team in the league in an away game? The Dallas Cowboys beat the New York Giants twice last year IN THE REGULAR SEASON. Do me a favor, ask Michael Strahan if he cares....

fact of the matter is, they lost. If they win, they move up. But right now there are teams who are 2-0 and look pretty good. I said they will move up, dont get too caught up in this after 2 weeks, a lot of football has to be played yet.

The Panthers are so much better this year because of the draft, they'll probably win the south with Delhomme back.

You underrate the Skins...I mean, come on...you have Cleveland above them? The Browns have averaged 8 points a game in 2 losses (that's tied for dead last in the NFL with the Rams) and their defense is suspect.
The Skins are 1-1, have a solid RB, OL, and WR, and a developing QB. Their D is ranked 14th in the league, not wonderful, but not horrible either.

And I'd put the Eagles at #2. A top-rated offense and a very solid defense. Dump the Pack to #4, and Broncos to #5.

Im with Safety. The Skins won a game. The Browns did not. That in itself puts them above the Browns. And let me get this straight. You put the Packers at number 2 and loved what Rodgers has done but said you were unimpressed with the Giants. You stated that you didn't like the Giants because of who they beat. So what your saying is beating Detroit 0-2 and Minnesota 0-2 both teams who are moderately talented but flawed and have a combined 0 wins is better than beating a horrible Rams team and a decent but flawed Skins team that has 1 win. Ok...what about the Giants hasnt impressed you. Their top rated defense or an offense that has more weapons that the Cowboys ever dreamed of. What was lost in the Philly game was that both teams couldn't stop a Pop Warner team. Im glad all the hype about Mr. Jones was warranted. The man couldn't catch a cold let alone a defender. Giants, Boys, Steelers, Broncos, Pathers, Packers, Eagles

Except you're arguments are flawed. The Vikings were supposed super bowl winners, and had to play two of the toughest teams in the league, the Pack and Colts. They could easily be 2-0 if they played the Rams and Skins.
The giants dont have a top defense, in fact once they play any decent team, their weak linebacker core is going to get torn apart through the air. Not to mention with lack of depth at DT, halfway through the season they will fall apart. And when Eli has to play against the blitzing eagles, I am going to have fun watch him cry, as they pound him into the ground repeatedly.

Before making assumptions about certain quarterbacks because of their race, you might want to try watching Jason Campbell play football. He is a prototypical passing quarterback. He is 6'5", 220 and has a rocket arm, and runs only when absolutely necessary. And to call the Redskins a bottom feeder while giving credit to the Saints for having offensive fire power and an underrated defense after the Redskins outgained them by over 200 yards on Sunday is a little unfounded.

In the past three seasons, Jason Campbell has 293 rushing yards. In that same time, Ben Roethilisberger has 319. How does an underrated defense give up over 450 yards of offense to a pitiful bottom-feeding Redskins offense with a miserable quarterback?

San Fran put up 33 on Seattle, that seems like a pretty good offense to me

Ohhh thats too funny. Now I know why proffesional writers dont respond to comments on their articles...because they get the crazy people like this guy. What are you twelve years old? Go back to the mountains?
And thats not even breaking your logic. Basically you said because they won the super bowl, automatically makes them the best team in the NFL...wow...ignorant.
They have lost 3 major parts of their team, Strahan, Osi, and G-Shock. All three are major contributers and now have to be replaced. No doubt that their backups are good, but not at starting NFL level

And, they play in arguably the toughest division in the NFL. And while the rest of their divsion made major improvements to their roster, the Giants only lost depth and star players.
You will quickly find out that against a decent enough defense, their ground game will mean nothing. And against a good offense with a good scheme, their secondary and LB's will be ripped apart. They just arent that good, make yourselves feel better by calling me a mountain man, but its time to face the facts.
Their offense has one, maybe two weapons (Plax and their RB's). Their defense is a bunch of misfits that include the converted Dl-LB converted back to LB-DL, Kiwanuka. They have a lot of guys who are good at one thing, but their overall skills are lacking. Any decent team is going to find holes in their coverage and be able to lock down their average receievers.

Guess who has the most red-zone targets so far this season for the Giants? Not Plax, not Jacobs...try Amani Toomer. He's 8th in the NFL in that particular stat.
And I'd definitely say Ahmad Bradshaw is a weapon. That's 4 so far...
