Red Sox trade Drew and Lugo (Traded to Cardinals).
Red Sox sign Wakefield (Resigned one year), Varitek (Resigned one year), Youkilis (Resigned four years), Bay, Aardsma (Traded to Mariners), Delcarmen, Lester (Resigned five years), Lopez (Resigned one year), Masterson (Traded to Indians), Cash (Signed with Yankees), Lowrie, Pedroia (Resigned six years), Cora (Signed with Mets) and Ellsbury if required.
Red Sox retire Schilling (Retired) and Timlin (Inactive).
Red Sox release Byrd (Inactive), Colon (Signed with White Sox), Kotsay (Resigned one year, Traded to White Sox), Smith (Signed with Brewers), Ross (Signed with Braves), Snyder (Signed with Mets) and Casey (Retired).
