First of all I  bow to bucs_fan101 who lost the throwdown but won the war. Florida indeed beat Tennessee by more than 20. I still think predicting a 20+ victory over an opponent in their house is a little arrogant, even if you're right.  Florida looked very good and probably was even more dominant than the score showed.

My upset predictions were spot on this week, I'm kinda proud of that.  Boise St. and Colorado were both winners. In fact, for a change the week went very closely to how I thought it would. I didn't expect East Carolina to lose this early. After reading about their injuries it seemed only a matter of time before the cinderella story was over.

Georgia looked good at last. They were fast physical and inspired against ASU. I think they might end up being as good as everyone predicted before the season started. The 'Bama' game should let us know more.

I wish I could have seen the Auburn LSU game. Must have been quite a battle. For ranking knowledge sake I'm glad I saw Georgia/ASU but that game looked over to me after the first quarter. Now the question is... is LSU a team to reckon with or is Auburn struggling?

The late games Saturday must have been fun to watch. Fresno St./Toledo, Iowa St. /UNLV, and New Mexico St./UTEP scored about 240 points combined and the games were decided by 5 points combined.  UNLV gave us more to think about beating Iowa St. after beating ASU last week. Iowa St. is no great team this year but beating ASU and having the mental strength to beat another BCS team the week after is a statement.

I guess Wake Forest officially isn't scared of Florida St.anymore, in fact this matchup must be starting to look as an expected win on their schedule after three straight.

Not much else to say, Yawner between the Spartans and Irish other than Mich. St.'s great RB performance by Ringer. For some reason Pitt over Iowa surprised me even though I have little confidence in the Big 10 this season. North Carolina could have gained a lot of respect and confidence this week but lost to Va Tech.

Top 5 stays the same:

1: USC

2: Florida

3: Georgia

4: Oklahoma

5: LSU/Missouri (Still can't make up my mind.)

So over and out until predictions for week 5,     Bones

LSU won, at Auburn...so hats off.
But more of an "Auburn lost" than LSU won.

I think the Sooners could take LSU at this point (which is a moot point I realize).
I actually think Mizzou would win over LSU at this point, just by lighting them up on the scoreboard.

UF UGA look good. USC better wallop the rest of the way.
OU better not take Big 12 South for granted.
Hell Texas is top 10 and Tech right behind.

Crimson Tide...2-3 more years?

It'll be interesting to see how things pan out.

You're right, OU better not think they have a free pass. I get the feeling they've felt like that at times over the past few seasons and it's bitten them. Must be hard for Stoops to keep everybody focused, a lot of heavily recruited egos to deal with. Of course injuries have hit them hard too, White, Peterson... even Heupel wasn't 100% in the championship game. Here's to health and humility in '08/'09.
The Horns and Raiders both look good enough to be big trouble but maybe that'll give the Sooners some good experience against tough opponents if they win.
Saban seems to have 'Bama on track. I'm not especially happy with the idea of a strong Tide emerging again. Better than some other possibilities I suppose. Yeah, probably 2-3 more years of good recruiting. They should even beat Auburn this year from the looks of it. If they beat Georgia next week I'd say they've arrived already.
What do you think about Vanderbilt in the SEC and Wake Forest in the ACC, true talent or teams ready for a fall?

September 23, 2008  03:12 AM ET

Wake has been doing this for 3 year now as long as Grobe is coach they are going to be top 25 mainstays. Auburn/LSU says LSU is a team to be reckoned with, but Auburn is struggling offensively. Defensively they are where they have always been under Tubberville. Bama is still a year or two away from being true players in the SEC. Yeah they beat Clemson who have two outstanding backs, but they also have one of the worst offensive lines in the ACC. That doesn't really help you have an outstanding running game. I look for UGA to beat Alabama by at least 14 points as Georgia has too much big game experience, has played better compitition, its a home game, and they are talking about a blackout.

The way i see it georgia's line is no more experienced than clemson's. I consider clemson's rushing attack to be very comparable to uga. Honestly i think bama will shut down the run and make stafford, who for some reason has not lived up to his billing as a blue chip recruit or projection as a top pick in the draft, beat them with his arm. Going to be an interesting match-up with bama's speedy but shorter db's covering Green. by the way who is better competition than opening up against no. 9 in the country on prime time tv??? bama by 10

Interesting that the two previous posters predicted victories of over 10 pts and in different directions. I truly hope I get to see the game and thanks to these posts I'll be obsessing about o-lines, lol...
I'll predict a closer game and say Georgia by 4. I haven't seen 'Bama play other than on highlights, I guess I'm predicting by instinct, ha ha.
