Since I intended to chronicle tailgating adventures this year and forgot to do so, consider this the first installment. The morning/afternoon included a lot of Coors Light, great food, cigarettes, a TV, an Atari, crushing mini Ben Roethlisberger, the Dolphins ruining my suicide pool (again), a broken cell phone, two pretty hot Ivy league Steelers chicks giving smooches, Keith Byars' look-alike, Vaughn Hebron's wife (who is quite pretty), a ten minute nap, a Donyell Marshall sighting, the Travel Channel camera crew, fake Andy Reid, 800 field hockey/cheerleading/science clubs/pee wee football teams walking around with a bucket looking for money. Why the hell should I give these people money??? Call your parents, they have money. When they come around now, we start speaking fake Spanish to each other until they walk away. I don't even know much Spanish, but it works. That is until the Latin American Youth Soccer club shows up. Then we're screwed. The day also included a sick double-disk tailgating CD which was unveiled for the first time yesterday. The following is the set list for disk 1 with commentary:
1. "Bridge Song" - Artist unknown. The bridge song is one of those NFL Network songs, and I have no idea who performed it. It starts out something like this: bum bum ba bum bumbumbum ba bum bumbumbum. I'm sure you don't get that, whatev. In my Itunes, it only says Bridge Song, so it's a mystery. The reason it's referred to as the Bridge Song, is that the second we arrive onto the Walt Whitman Bridge, the song is played. Then my buddy DA proceeds to slap himself a few times in the face. Hard. While driving.
2. "Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)" - Bill Conti. For obvious reasons, this song pretty much set the city on fire. I think it's hilarious when other cities try to fire up the crowd by using this song, especially when the Eagles are in town. That'd be like playing "New York, New York" at a Phillies game.
3. "Thunderstruck" - AC/DC. Quite possibly the greatest song ever made. This also used to be the song the Eagles were announced to, and it was the greatest sight my eyes have ever seen. When they changed their intro, I emailed them almost every day for 6 months, but to no avail. They have a new intro now which is pretty good, which will be discussed when disk 2 is covered. Some dude actually posted a bit of the Thunderstruck intro on youtube from the NFC Champsionship game in 2004. I'd like to thank him, I get choked up watching that. Turn up your speakers and check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMOBSoodot0
4. "Enter Sandman" - Metallica. Another banger. Virginia Tech's player intros to this song are second to none. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6nDv4_CF6k
5. "We Will Rock You" - Queen. We had a big game in high school one Friday night, and the team we were playing had this song played on a loop for the entire warm ups. I was so fired up, I had to drink 7 gatorades before kickoff just to rehydrate. This song will do that to you.
6. "Welcome to the Jungle" - Guns n' Roses. Time to shotgun a beer.
7. "Eye of the Tiger" - Survivor. As you may have imagined, a lot of shadow boxing ensues by people in the surrounding area. Hilarious watching some overweight drunk dude in a Duce Staley jersey attempting to look like a boxer.
8. "Rock n Roll" - Gary Glitter. I know what you're thinking. This dude is a major, major perve. But this song is pretty cool, so I'll pretend somebody else made it.
9. "Hell's Bells" - AC/DC. This song should be played everyday at noon across the country to increase productivity after lunch.
10. "Black Betty" - Ram Jam. If you only knew the things that went down at the Crazy Horse in Myrtle Beach at my buddies bachelor party....
11. "War/Fanfare from Rocky" - Vince DiCola. He's not human. He's like a piece of iron.
12. "Blue Orchid" - The White Stripes. The White Stripes are friggin' awesome.
13. "Go with the flow" - Queens of the Stone Age. This is a great song to put on when you are trying to make it from Philly to AC in a half hour. Try it.
14. "Du Hast" - Rammstein. This song scares me. But I did see a Russian chick lipsync the entire thing once. It was amazing.
15. "It's on!" - Korn. Time to shotgun a beer again.
16. "Ace of Spades" - Motorhead. If you don't know this song, you should be ashamed of yourself.
17. "Kickstart my Heart" - Motley Crue. They play this song in the Linc from time to time during commercial breaks, and the cheerleaders love it. It's brings out the extra something you were hoping to see. Never fails.
18. "Hysteria" - Muse. Muse is so good, I would listen to their music backwards.
19. "Training Montage" - Vince DiCola. Yet another hit from the Rocky anthology. Like you didn't see that coming.
20. "When worlds collide" - Powerman 5000. This song makes me want to lift weights. Instead I shotgunned a beer.
21. "Fly Eagles Fly" - Artist unknown. This is like the 1960 recorded choir version. Good stuff.
Details covering the post game tailgate as well as Disk 2 to come.

Nice selection of music. It is funny watching a drunk, overweight dude try to act like a boxer.
