You laughed at me, said I drank Polluted fecal-matter infested Tijuana water that seeped over the border into the San Ysidro beaches, and said I was dreaming.
Well guess what? My dream has become reality. Rivers is top 5 in every major passing category, and his schedule gets softer as it goes. Let's look at some of the numbers he's put up.
TDs- #1 with 9, not only #1 in total TD's but #1 in TD% the much more telling stat, he leads that with a whopping 10.6, the next closest is Cutler with 7.4.
Yards- #4 with 844, while being tied for 19th in attempts.
Comp%- #5 with 67.1%
YPA- #1 with 9.93
Rating- #1 with 124.8
That is damn good.
Despite what Charger haters want to believe, he is playing on a team that will make the play-offs. He is just now getting his startin O-lineman back, McNeil came back against the Jets and Hardwick will be back soon. Once Hardwick gets back this line that has allowed just 2 sacks will get even better.
LDT is still banged up, so the Chargers will run less and let Rivers throw the ball around to Jackson, Chambers, Gates, and out of nowhere FB Mike Tolbert who is second among 'backs in receiving. That is a very talented group of pass catchers for Rivers to play with.
So next time some one makes a statement like "Phillip Rivers will win the Mvp" which at the time sounds ridiculous don't accuse him of drinking Polluted fecal-matter infested Tijuana water so soon. Especially when some one makes a coherent and reasonable argument, if they don't make a reasonable or coherent argument, then you may blast away and call them a big flopping Donkey dick.
Phillip Rivers 4 Mvp

Someone in the NFC will probably win MVP just because there are better teams this year in the NFC.
Is Rivers even the MVP of his team?
I'm not saying that Rivers is a bad quaterback. I like him. I like his attitude but....this is a run oriented offense and will continue to be so. Where would the Chargers be without Sproles and LT? Would Rivers be putting up these impressive numbers without home run hitters in the back field?
Also you guys would probably be 3-0 if you had Merriman.....He's probably more of an MVP for your team than Rivers.
With that said it's a long season.
McNabb is probably in the MVP lead in my opinion and that is an objective view because I am a Cowboy fan and hate the Eagles with much passion.

I didn't laugh at you Confucius. You liar!
But remember, I picked McNabb who has looked very good. We'll see who's dark horse ends up winning it at the end of the season.

I did.
But, you will notice I am no longer laughing quite as hard.
I even included him in my latest TD as one of my top picks in the league for MVP candidates. I still think Romo is the front-runner based on how Dallas should do this year - but Rivers is making a case.
2 more games and we should be able to lean hard one way or the other.
