The Trojans came close to coming back in the second half of the game against the Oregon State Beavers, but they weren't close enough. And for most of the game, they weren't close at all. The Trojans' last touchdown drive, with under three minutes in the game, looked great. Too bad it was about the only glimpse we got tonight of the usually-dominant SC offense. They kept piling up penalties on both sides of the ball, and Joe McKnight still couldn't manage to protect the ball. Michigan, much?

Dear USC:

You know I love you. I really, really do, and that's not going to change just because you screw up. Everyone messes up sometimes but this time, you really let me down. I know unranked teams are your weakness. I know it's dangerous to let you venture to Corvallis, and I always worry about you when you go. You roll in, thinking you're #1, thinking you're invincible, forgetting to remember that this team and this environment, especially, is your downfall. Every time I voice my concern about your ability to survive up there on your own, you manage to say all the right things to assuage my fears. So I send you off, hoping it'll be different this time but always worrying I'll be disappointed. Again.

It doesn't have to be this way. If you're good enough to be #1, you're good enough to stop the Beavers' #1, but you don't even see him coming. It would be one thing if I thought you were just overmatched, but I know you're better than you played. You should be more disciplined than the final tally of penalties suggests. You should hold your own against the "giant-killers," but once again, they were hungry, and you just caved.

I hate watching this happen to you, being unable to fix things. I wish I could do it for you, but only you can win these games. And you can win these games, even if it didn't look like it tonight. I have faith in you, and I'll be back here next week, supporting you again. But until then, don't talk to me. I need some space.

Love, Justine

This is USC's new trend. Before it was winning championships, now its losing to sub .500 teams

Just when you thought this year was going to be different than last year BAM! The Beavers Strike!

As an LSU fan I am totally dissapointed that USC lost their game last night. I was expectling them to route Oregon State but they fell short. We here in SEC country would really like to play USC in a National Title game and it still could happen. I don't expect any team to go undefeated this year so it may still happen. I was expecting a UGA/UF/LSU vs. USC championship this year. I guess we'll have to see how it all turns out.
