It's Saturday night here on the East Coast. And I'm already drained, and frayed as a USC Trojans fan still trying to go to sleep and wake up hoping its still Thursday night just before kick-off in Corvallis. But it's not, the upset happened. My Trojans are as flawed as anyone. And then today happened... Florida, Wisconsin, Wake Forrest, Clemson, East Carolina, and as I write this freaking blog post Alabama has just gone up 23-0 on Georgia. It's not just USC. What the hell is happening this weekend? So many questions, so many questions...

But the biggest question on my mind since this morning watching Kirk, Lee, and Fowler on College Game Day in Athens is this. How the hell is that every Saturday for as long as I can remember watching the show for years, there is always a Washington State flag clearly standing tall in the background? The Cougars may be the worst team in the Pac-10 which means one of the worst of the BCS Conference programs, and probably even worse than that. Has anyone else noticed this all these years? Anyone have inside info? The same guy who travels each weekend to the Gameday site? An ESPN prank? Kirk and Lee even mentioned the goddamm flag today on air.

So tell me folks. Have you noticed this? Is there a dumber question to ask at the moment of this wacked-out, upside down college football season?

My sister who lives in Lewiston, ID, just 30 miles from WSU, has been asking the same question for weeks. Is some rabid Wazzu fan actually traveling around to all of the college game day venues to wave this flag?!?!?!?

I have long wondered about the Wazzou Flag! I hope this fan is found. Stalking the Game Day crew with a Wazzou Flag... pretty unusual.

I went to college gameday in Athens yesterday, and the Wazzou guy was standing right behind me. (My signs said, "JPW, 135.5 pass ypg, WOW!" and "Mark May eats babies.") the guy said that he was a georgia fan who attends school at Georgia State, and he said that his cousin, I think, sent him the flag to bring to the Gameday set. So I hope that answers some questions.

At one point, the guy said, "Go Cougars, let's win a game."

There is actually a (believe it or not) group of degenerate cougar alumni that register on some website and are contacted by whoever leads the group when GAMEDAY will be in their area. All volunteers of course. Trying to remind ESPN not to forget them in their bottom ten lift. lol

How 'bout 'em and falkin, thank-you for the info and unraveling the Cougar flag mystery. That is pretty crazy. OK, so here's a proposal. Someone who is going to the GameDay set this weekend (not even sure yet where they'll be) distract the guy with the flag, take it, paint your fannation screename on it and give it back to him so we can see it on Saturday morning on ESPN. (Please do this in the most non-violent, peaceful, respectful of ways possible of course, maybe even asking the guy if you can do this).

Let's see if fannation can make an impact on ESPN College Football GameDay.

LOL - how about one that says "The FN Format Change S-u-c-k-s!"
Then maybe someone would pay attention...

Actually when WSU had the 3 most winingest season in a row and finally made it to the Rose Bowl after 67 years and ESPN Game Day still would not come to Pullman. So it they started showing up at game day waving the flag trying to get Game Day to Pullman. They mail the flag around the nation to have it proudly wave in the background. If you have ever met a WSU fan you would know regardless of being the bottom of the PAC Ten and the worst they have ever been in Cougar History we still bleed crimson and gray. We are not fans just when they are doing good we are fans through it all.
