It's Saturday night here on the East Coast. And I'm already drained, and frayed as a USC Trojans fan still trying to go to sleep and wake up hoping its still Thursday night just before kick-off in Corvallis. But it's not, the upset happened. My Trojans are as flawed as anyone. And then today happened... Florida, Wisconsin, Wake Forrest, Clemson, East Carolina, and as I write this freaking blog post Alabama has just gone up 23-0 on Georgia. It's not just USC. What the hell is happening this weekend? So many questions, so many questions...
But the biggest question on my mind since this morning watching Kirk, Lee, and Fowler on College Game Day in Athens is this. How the hell is that every Saturday for as long as I can remember watching the show for years, there is always a Washington State flag clearly standing tall in the background? The Cougars may be the worst team in the Pac-10 which means one of the worst of the BCS Conference programs, and probably even worse than that. Has anyone else noticed this all these years? Anyone have inside info? The same guy who travels each weekend to the Gameday site? An ESPN prank? Kirk and Lee even mentioned the goddamm flag today on air.
So tell me folks. Have you noticed this? Is there a dumber question to ask at the moment of this wacked-out, upside down college football season?
