This is a tribute to Mike Mussina who could leave the Yankees, my favorite team in free agency. 20 wins is amazing for everybody, but at age 39 it is a miracle. Mussina's illustrious and hall of fame contendable carreer is decorate by that magical night when facing of against dreaded rivals the Red Sox and Dice-K Matsuzaka. Mussina is very deservant of the Cy young because at age 39 and 20 wins is definently something to award. He pitched very good this season and still is showing his gem. Mussina should be resigned especially because the Yankees still need somebody of his caliber on their roster and starting rotation, who doesn't?

Well I couldn't agree more that the Yankees should resign him, but Cy Young?? Are you serious?? I'm a lifelong Yankees fan, and nothing will ever change that. However.... did you happen to miss Cliff Lee's 22-3, 2.54ERA season with the Indians?? Not to mention his 4 complete games, 2 of which were shut-outs. I love the Moose, hope he stays for at least 1 more year, and would have argued until my dying breath that he deserved to be inducted into the Hall of Fame even before getting his 20th win. Unfortunately, although it is a nice story and he could win comback player of the year, he shouldn't and won't win the Cy Young this year. I don't think there's much debate this year that the winners will be Cliff Lee (AL) and Brandon Webb (NL).

I'm glad for Moose, after the disastrous "Living on the Black" campaign especially -- but you know what he really needs? Not the CYA, not the 20 wins he got, but . . . a ring, because you know that is why he signed with the Yankees in the first place.
