As I watch Brett Favre throw this year, and not just the 6 touchdown's on Sunday, it got me to thinking. When was the last time this team had a QB under center that was firing TD's into small gaps the way Brett is throwing laser beams into Stuckey, LC, and Cotchery? The answer is......Vinny Testeverde, who we all loved for about 4 years or so. Even though Vinny was old, he still had a gun slinger arm.
So who do the management and the fans like better? The gunslingers like Testeverde of yesteryear, and Favre of today? Or do we all like Chad and the super game managing? I think the answer is that the rocket arm has always been preferred over the game manager.
That being the case, Kellen Clemmons is out next season. Brett Ratliff, and Eric Ainge stay on the roster. But who is the wild card coming back? The answer is....Michael Vick. Depending on how hard throwing Brett Favre does this season, will dictate weather or not the Jets take a shot on another QB with a cannon next year. And with Vick being released from prison, he may be the cost effective, west coast offense, strong armed quarterback the Jets look at to replace him next year.
I'm not saying that they will get him. He may get signed a week after he gets out of jail. He may not get signed at all. But if I was the GM of a team with a pretty good O-line, a RB that doesnt get that many yards, I'd take a look at a QB that can make some short throws, and can scramble out of the pocket and get some yards with his legs to make up for the ground game. Again, this is just my thinking, but I think Vick would be the perfect backup to Brett Favre, and wouldn't cost as much since he already has a second job fighting pitbulls. These are just my thoughts on the 40 year old Brett and the 30 year old Mike Vick next season.

Personally I don't like Michael Vick but if you give him a fast runningback (Leon Washington) his team could have a deadly running game.

Not only would the fans of the team that signs Vick be pissed off, Vick was a very poor QUARTERBACK in the NFL. Sure he could run, but he sucks as a QB, and he is a terrible human being.

This is absurd and, only assuming that Vick isn't BANNED from the NFL for life, the worst possible PR move the Jets could make. People already despise New York, why give them more fuel to the fire? Sure he was dynamically athletic, but Vick was a selfish player and a terrible game manager. No way this EVER happens.

One of the most absurd blogs I have ever read! The only thing that Vick has in common with Favre is a strong arm. Big deal! Vick is inaccurate and erratic. And how are two years of inactivity going to improve his inability to hit open receivers? Favre is a HOF championship qb who can still bring it despite nearing 40. Vick is an overrated felon who is far better suited to being a wide receiver than a qb.

Joe Namath wil play for the Jets again before Michael Vick does...Vick will be lucky to get a job in the CFL.

Vick would last about 3 weeks before the normally-unrestrained New York fan base rebelled.
