Dear Chicago Cubs,
I really love you guys, but I have a few demands. I am a realitively young man, I haven't been through all the **** you've put people through in the last century but I've been through a lot. 1st, I never want to hear my 80-year old grandfather call me almost sobbing because he told me as a young boy they would win it before he died and he doesn't think he has much time left.
2nd, I don't ever want to hear an over-paid manager, regardless of who he is because they will all be over-paid, tell me about how I take the Cubs to seriously and they're are more important things in the world as they are about to get swept for the second year in a row.......
3rd, Derrek Lee dont ever tell me at the rally that you need the fans for another month, Derrek, we need YOU for another month!
4th and 5th, Jim Hendry quit telling me that the money on Soriano is warranted, because A. He cant hit the weight of his own bat in the playoffs, and B. that back-loaded contract is really gonna start biting us in the **** starting, now, next season.......
6th. Give Reed Johnson a going-away prize for helping us get there and then not playing him FREAKING ONCE in the playoffs.......
7th. Did I mention Lou Piniella? One of the worst managed playoff series I've ever seen, you just got taken to school by Joe Torre, hey keep on playin Fukudome, it'll pay off sooner or later.
8th. Tell the people on the radio in Chicago that they really shouldn't blame the fans for a lack of noise, or effort in this series as you set another attendance record for what? The fourth year in a row? Looks like you got what was important again.
9th. Tell Aramis Ramirez and all his how-ever many millions that he can start stepping up at any time.
In conclusion, I love you guys, I really do, ask my wife who is pissed at me all summer because I watch, EVERY GAME. But as Lou would say, I take it to seriously, forget that I have a good job that keeps my family well taken care of, and financially o.k., there are more important things going on like a depression, recession or whatever, hey Lou, isn't baseball supposed to be an out for all that ****? Isn't BASEBALL supposed to take my mind off all that? And who are you to use that as an out to cover your **** to me? Isn't this game that we take to seriously your career? haven't you made a lot of coin off this "game" so you and your family don't have to worry about a recession or a depression? Lou you obviously are a post-season bust so I really hope you do retire and they promote a guy with a little fire, maybe Ryne Sandberg or Jody Davis, someone in the organization who wants a little more than a good regular season.
This is the kind of post that 2nd straight year sweep and a 5th of Absolute vodka will get you, but be assured it's from the heart, I apologize for spelling errors, but erverything else is exactly what I wanted to say........
As I leave you I'll leave a couple of CORRECT spins on what the Cubbies favorite sayings have been, "It's Gonna Happen!", IT ALWAYS DOES! And 100 years, AND COUNTING!

change a few words here and some names there, and that sounds like the usual post season cubs fan blog.

Thank you so much, for demand number six! I guess Lou wanted to witness the stellar performances by Edmonds and Fukadome.
