LSU and Gators will be a great game to watch. Expect a close finish.

October 6, 2008  12:01 PM ET

PSU blowing out Wisconsin at home? I think it will be alot closer than that.

October 6, 2008  01:16 PM ET

I bet Arkansas could win against Auburn just b/c Auburns offense is so weak right now. The tigers have a great D, but offense wins games. I don' t know if I'd pick the Hogs, but the game won't be a blow out. In other words, Arkansas will cover the spread, whatever it is.

I don' t know if Clemson will blow out Wake Forest either. This is Clemson's first ACC test which is different from a season opener SEC test. It'll be a good game regardless.

Kansas won't blow out Colorado. The Jayhawks will probably win, but no blow out b/c Texas is much better and Kansas struggled mightily against a lowly Cyclone team even though they were able to win. I might even pick the Buffs as an upset pick.

Everything else looks about right. Good picks.

I'm 63-33, so what would I know? Maybe I should start listening to you more.

October 6, 2008  01:56 PM ET

I don't know about Texas Vs. Oklahoma, neither team has really been tested this year. I think it will be a close one in Dallas and could go either way.

October 6, 2008  02:50 PM ET

It is true.. my blow outs may be off but my wins will be pretty solid. Auburn has to win and will be ready, Oklahoma may be untested but as a team they are much better than Texas- who hopes their QB can carry them. KU still has talent but it is true it could be close. Wake is an up and down team and it is uncertain who will show up.

October 6, 2008  02:52 PM ET

Arkansas would be a shocker.. yes.. Auburn is struggling but Arkansas is hurting all over and has not played well all year. Auburn will win; it may be ugly. I saw Arkansas play and it is the worst team I have seen in years. Auburn is no prize but they are better and a safe bet to win.

October 6, 2008  06:38 PM ET

And the best news of all is the Tide enjoys a bye this week.I can relax, take a few deep breaths and watch everyone else play.

October 6, 2008  10:48 PM ET

You're killing me Dr. J, Picking thos nasty Gators to beat my Tigers shame on you. I hope that you loss column increases by 1 this week with this game. I have the same fears though.

How am I supposed to thoughtfully comment when you steal my material?

LOL

October 7, 2008  10:59 AM ET

FLorida is favored 6 in this game. We need to shut down Tebow and Harvin and I think we'll have a good chance. I will be in Orlando at a conference this weekend, guess I'll have to find a Buffalo Wild Wings or something to support the Tigers. Here's an idea, if anyone with one of those $400 tickets would like to donate to a poor LSU Tiger fan, I will be glad to accept. Ha! No chance of that.

October 7, 2008  02:41 PM ET

Georgia Tech had to schedule G.W. because Army backed out of their contract.

October 7, 2008  10:17 PM ET

I'll be extremely shocked if the decision between texas and oklahoma is over 3-5 points. That one can go either way. im still skeptical about jumping on the sam bradford bandwaggon. I think he was overrated last year and no better this year. I watched the shootout last year and Texas had more control overall in the game, a breakaway fumble inside the 5 was the deciding factor. This year is gonna come down to who turns the ball over more.

October 8, 2008  08:31 AM ET

You could be right about Texas and Oklahoma but I have a feeling it might get ugly. Florida and LSU will be very close and could go either way. I just have a feeling Florida is more urgent with a loss to a joke team. LSU still sits in the drivers seat on their side even with a loss. If a team wins the SEC with one loss; they have a true shot at the championship game. Missouri/Oklahoma will cancel out one of them from a shot at the end; Big 12 Championship (If they make it). Bama has Florida and LSU to go and if they win... their in, but that is unlikely. However they have a true shot...SEC still wide open in the East. West clearly belongs to LSU.

October 8, 2008  08:26 PM ET

So would you still go with Auburn (to cover 18 1/2) after the latest???

October 8, 2008  08:29 PM ET

No doubt it didn't hurt 'em but this game makes me nervous

October 13, 2008  02:15 PM ET

I knew the gators would win but clearly LSU came out flat. They are stil in the drivers seat in the weaker side of the SEC; the west. In the SEC this year anything can happen. Vandy always plays UGA to the wire and both teams know this is a must win. No room for two loses in the east.

October 13, 2008  02:16 PM ET

By the way... what happen to Auburn??? Their offense has totally left.. solid team but clearly major issues going on.. coach could be in trouble if they lose 6 games this year.

October 13, 2008  02:17 PM ET

No shock with Clemson firing Tommy. Solid coach but clearly has lost his team and needs to move on and start over. He can still coach well but Clemson needed new blood and a new philosophy. Hate to say it but a Steve Spurrier would make them solid right away.
