Well its been a relatively normal week by todays standards in college football. There weren't nearly as many upset this weekend as originally predicted. Lets take a look at what happened this weekend.
1. The SEC and Big 12 remain the best conferences in college football. There were no major upsets out of conference or losses to unranked teams. #10 South Florida was knocked out by Pitt on Thursday night. We all have become aware that the other conferences are absolutely horrendous. The Big East and the ACC are being led by teams that are ranked in the 20's. I'm pretty sure that voters sympathized ans must rank someone in those respective conferences to keep the natrual order for automatic bids for the BCS bowl games. The SEC and Big 12 each have 6 teams in the polls. 9 out of the top 15 teams belong in either conference. All top 5 teams belong in those conferences! Talk about asserting yourself as they premier conferences.
2. Showdown next weekend within the Big 12 and the SEC. Next weekend will be a clear indication of who is a contender and who is a pretender in these premier leagues. The stakes are always high, and never fails to deliver in the annual Red-River Shootout. Both Oklahoma and Texas are currently ranked #1 and #5 in the AP polls. The winner of this game is definitely in the drivers seat for a spot in the Big 12 championship. Great offenses will be on display. Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford are 2 of the best quarterbacks in the nation. Colt is a Vince Young prodigy, while Sam Bradford resembles Peyton Manning. These two Hesiman contenders will face off, and the winner of this battle will probably be a favorite to win it all at the end of the season. Meanwhile in the SEC you will have a battle of top 10 teams with LSU and Florida. The defending national champions will face off agaisnt the winner of the Hesiman last year in Tim Tebow. I believe that the better defense of the two will prevail in this game. It should be a very tight and exciting match. The SEC never fails to deliver last minute drama in their games.
3. Vanderbilt is the suprise team of the year and a contender in the SEC East. I must admit after Vandy getting a historical win over my Auburn Tigers. I have no other choice but to acknowledge that Vandy is for real. Yes I understand that Auburn's offense is horrendous. However Vandy managed to put 14 points against one of the best defenses in the nation, and do it with a backup quarterback. Vandy is sitting alone atop arguably the toughest division in College Football in the SEC East. They are ahead of traditional powerhouses Georgia, Florida, Tennessee. They are 5-0 (3-0 in SEC) for the first time since World War II (1943). They beat Auburn for the first time since 1955! If they win 1 more game it will end the nations longest bowl drought since 1982 I believe that Vandy has a slight chance of winnig their division. Vandy still must face Georgia and Florida. However Georgia and Florida will also face each other, which means one team will come out with 2 losses in the conference. Georgia, also still has LSU and Auburn on their schedule. While Florida still must play LSU and heir annual game with Florida St. this would mean that if Vandy wins out and beats either Georgia or Florida. Then you may look at the first berth in a SEC championship in history for Vandy.
Next weekend should be a fantastic weekend for College Football fans everywhere! Pleaes feel free to commend as much as you want. I will try to reply to everyone as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to proof-read my blog! I was in my Cal 3 class typing this, and his voice was a horrible distraction for me. Thanks for catching my typo. Thank you for your "comment" !

Believe me, you are not alone on this one. They are to the Big Ten what Vandy is to the SEC, that is if you have a good imagination. But on a serious note, an undefeated non-BCS MAC team, Ball ST. is number 25 and an unbeaten Big Ten team, Northwestern is absent from the top 25. They host Michigan State Spartans this weekend and a victory will guaranty the Wildcats a top 25 ranking.

Northwestern without a doubt, deserves consideration for a spot in the top 25. However another victory all but assures them of a spot in the rankings. I think the reason why voters chose not to vote Duke in, is because of their strength of schedule thus far. Their most impressive win thus far has been against Duke. Northwestern has a chance to make a loud impact in the Big 10. Look at their schedule:
10/11 No. 23 Michigan State
10/18 Purdue
10/25 @ Indiana
11/01 @ Minnesota
11/08 No. 12 Ohio State
11/15 @ Michigan
11/22 Illinois

Agreed. Northwestern is to the Big 10 as Vandy is to the SEC for what they've done thus far. Both are surprises and have done a fabulous job thus far.
