Well, it's my goal to bring the Big 10 Football Group back to life...I know aim high, right? Anyways since Anthony E. left the site I'm gonna try to do this..hopefully some of the groups regulars will continue to banter about and make this group great again.
Now that I've got all of the the boring stuff out of the way, I want to talk football. More precisely the Wisconsin Badgers. I need a place to vent, and this is it.
I would love to see Allan Evridge out as our quarterback, but who else do you really want to be our quarterback? Do we go with Dustin Sherer? Ehhh..I don't really trust him. Do you take the red shirt away from Curt Phillips? No, of course you don't. That would be stupid do such a thing. So, it appears at least to me that we're stuck with Allan Evridge for the simple fact that there isn't a guy behind who you'd want to throw in the fire, yet.
So, we're stuck with the crappy of Evridge. We made our bed and we have to lay in it. Allan can be good when he gets into a rhythm. The only problem is he doesn't maintain his in-game rhythm...it goes from drive to drive. It's not that he doesn't have any good players to throw the ball to....he just makes awful decisions. Perfect example would be at the end of the Ohio State game when he should have just thrown the ball away and lived to fight another down.
As for the run situation...it's evident that John Clay needs to start. John Clay explodes through the holes and is just a big physical runner with speed to go along with it. It's clear that PJ Hill needs to be moved to the bench...sometimes PJ can be a little too patient. It was said at the beginning of the fall that John Clay was clearly the most talented of the running back group..and thus far it's held true. He needs to get the ball 20-25 times a game...the kid is just a beast.
As for the defense..we're good..it's just that they can't be expected to hold a team every single drive. It seems like our defense gives up big plays at very inconvenient times. It gets frustrating sometimes.

I think it might be what you didn't do. You didn't try hard enough to recruit new members and considered it boring. That's just my take on it. But yes. Clay reminds me a bit of like OSU's Beanie Wells minus the little jukes Wells throws in there so he can position his defender where he wants him. I also agree your QB should hand the ball off more often.

evridge is terrible, but hes gone after this season anyway
clay is a good prospect, but ive read he that he is not very bright in terms of learning the playbook quickly. hes got some room to grow and thats scary good :)
the michigan game kinda summed up the season. you lose late to that crappy team than you dont deserve to win. just a throw away season......... this year and the next 2 are going to show us what kinda coach/recruiter Bielema is. if it stays like this .........he is not the right guy.

It is scary good if Clay is going to continue improving. Evridge is going to be gone soon enough, but I don't know if it's soon enough. I like the recruiter Bielema, but the coach Bielema is still up in the air.

I think James Stallons should start for the rest of the season (since the the other QB's can't throw for sheat) and then start Curt Phillips Next Year.
