Well even though this year's Chicago Baseball teams didn't do much except bow out in the first round of the playoffs, there is a bright spot in this city.  Some might say its the Blackhawks, but really as of today I have to feel good about the Chicago Bears.  What started out as a joke in the preseason when Lovie Smith was shuffling his QB's week after week only to give it to Orton has turned into something serious in this town.  We officially have a first place football team.  The Bears managed to get to that position by simply beating the teams that the experts said they couldn't.  It is truly amazing listening or watching these guys play and having hope that they can pull our a victory.  As I mentioned in a previous blog, Kyle Orton has become the answer that the fans of Chicago have been looking for.  Rex Grossman, no matter how talented he was, never could consistently put up numbers and keep this team in the game.  As a plus what has happened is Orton has grown to actually do more than manage the game.

As long as Forte is a threat on the ground, Orton can continue to spread the field and give the Bears opportunities to win.  This may not be the long term answer as of right now, but if he can continue to produce for our team then I have to say why not.  The Bears will have a winning season this year, but it isn't for certain that they will make the playoffs.  I look forward to watching them this season, because there is nothing in October and on to watch as a Chicago sports fan.

Rex sucks and always will, there better off cutting him and getting someone that doesnt suck 13 outta the 16 games.

As long as Orton produces like he has in the last couple of games he will remain the teams quarterback. The Bears will probably offer Rex Grossman a contract to stay as the team backup QB. It will be up to Grossman what he will actually do. I don't think he will be a starter anywhere in this league, he might as well stay on board get a paycheck and hope he will get to play some games if Orton gets hurt. The Bears will still have to spend a draft pick to find another QB next year as well as the next. They need more of a safety net than Hanie.
