I have heard a large number of people complain about Belichick's constant refusal to talk about injuries. He won't even comment on the extent of Brady's injuries. His response whenever asked is that he is focusing on the next game. When asked about Brady's surgery he told the reporter that him and the team were focusing on the San Diego Chargers, not Brady. This is a smart thing to say, but most people would find it annoying.

Belichick is an NFL coach. Coaches in the NFL are obsessed with getting every advantage possible. One advantage would be not letting the other team's know your weaknesses. Knowing injuries would be knowing a weakness in a team. Belichick would not want that.

Fans of teams other than the Patriots seem to be greatly bothered by this. They think it is unfair and against the rules to not disclose the information of your injuries. It may be against the rules or unfair, but do you think Belichick will stop? Well, I'll tell you something, he isn't going to.

To you fans of other teams; you think it's annoying for you? Try being a Patriots fan. I don't mean in terms of success, we have been very lucky. But how annoying would it be to not know how injured your own star quarterback is?

Imagine this: Your quarterback just won MVP and set the single season record for touchdown passes, you were one win away from an undefeated season and you had the highest scoring offense in league history, then in the first quarter of the first game of the season, he goes down with a season-ending injury. And on top of that, you don't even know how serious it is! Your head coach won't tell you the extent of his injury. All you know is he had torn his ACL and MCL and just had surgery. And you're wondering "when he will be back", "will he be the same as before", "will he come back at all?", but there is no way for you to know.

How frustrating would that be? That is how I feel right now. I don't know if Tom Brady will be as good as he was, I don't even know if Matt Cassell may be our quarterback next year.

The success Belichick has brought to the Patriots' organization was well worth these annoyances, but I wouldn't mind it stopping. Unfortunately, it's not going to.
