Well, somebody has to write the post-mortem on the game today. Might as well be me, I guess.
Not a single turnover through 5 games, and yet 3 in the 1st half. That last one--the one where Jason Campbell gets the pass batted back to him, Pete Kendall picks it up and decides to do his (wretched) impersonation of Clinton Portis, then coughs up the ball and watches the Rams run it in for a score--just set the tone for the 2nd half...as far as I go.
All it takes is for this team to fall in love with themselves, and not focus on the remainder of the season, to begin to self-destruct. OK, so we've had our "trap" game for the year. Now it's time to turn the attention to Cleveland next Sunday afternoon @ 4:15.
Notice I'm not delving into the end of the game. Why should I?? Failure to focus, plain and simple, is why the Rams pulled this out. I'm not gonna offer up an excuse...because there is none, in my book. This should've been a slam-dunk, and instead we got outplayed by a 10th-rate team.
YECCCH!!!
