Lately, Fannation has been lacking. We all know it, we all see it, we all know why. Since I'm still weirdly drawn to this site every day for reasons I'm not quite sure, the lack of action on this place has been gnawing away at me. Every day I check in, check back a little later, and keep checking all throughout the day. Sometimes there are a few things, some funny Throwdowns waiting for comment. The latest edition of our favorite Fannation Soap Opera - not the long dead blog, but the soap opera that manifests itself each time a certain member does a throwdown - we all know who. Maybe someone will utter the words "Michael" and "Vick" simultaneously, and still miraculously draw in about 20 pages of comments. But for the most part - and we've all seen this - Fannation is slowly dying a death, not caused just by the massive changes of last month, but by some completely uninteresting, mundane, and just downright boring blogging that's been going on here. Vanilla I called it, last week on DC's anniversary blog. Too much vanilla is just killing this place.

I can't do anything about it either. It will probably continue, until enough of the old stalwarts have left and moved on. When all the enjoyable things about getting on this website have faded into memories amid an avalanche of stupid newbie throwdowners. I'm beginning to think it is inevitable, that it cannot be avoided. Perhaps we can't avoid it and I can't do anything about it. But darnit - I still want to have some fun. So I came up with this concept. It's a personal challenge really. I'm calling it "The BlogStorm". Like, I'm going to Barnstorm, sort of. I'm challenging myself to write 20 blogs - 2 blogs per day over the course of this work week and next work week. I just recently passed 100 blogs, which took me a little over a year to accomplish. I'm slow, my blogs seem to take a long time to come to fruition, and I'm constantly running out of ideas for the next one. Blogging 20 times over the next 2 weeks would represent as many blogs as I did last year in about 2 and a half months time - all in just 10 workdays.

This was the easy one, explaining what I'm doing. The rest are going to get harder, currently I've only got about 2 or 3 more blog ideas in my "vault" then I will have start coming up with fresh stuff. I will be spreading them over all the groups I blog for, as appropriately as possible. I thought about not telling anyone I was doing this, just whipping it out on y'all unexpectedly like. But then there's more the likely that I might not stick to my challenge, that I might just say "Well, that's good enough" and stop after like 12 or something. So I'm just going to call attention to myself and let y'all know about it, that way I have to follow through. Just a final note to my regular readers and commentors - I will not be Fanmailing personal Fanmails out with links to all 20 blogs. First, I don't want to explode anyone's inbox if they happen to be offline for a couple of weeks. But also because it's too time consuming, and I've got a lot of blogs to write. So I will only be doing Groupmails. Yes, I know everyone hates them and most ignore them, but I think that is going to be my SOP from now on. One groupmail to the Fannation Community group, and one to whichever Group the blog pertains to you. With the BB&S blog I did earlier today, this one makes 2 of 20. The Final blog, BlogStorm #20, will also be posted for this group, Fannation Grandpa's, and I'll wrap this up and let you know how it went. Wish me Luck!

Yeah, we all get "writers' block" on here too, Thug. I've run out of ideas myself.
Hell, I've done 2 blogs a day at times...THAT'S why I have 370-some to my credit (and counting). The trick is coming up with something to write about.
I got one ready for FN Magazine to come the day BEFORE the election. It WON'T be pretty, I can guarantee you...and it might lose me some friends on here. But it's GOT to be written.
And you're right, this place IS dying a slow painful death.

Thanks for the advice DC. I Remember when you and RUGator were cranking em out like 15-20 a week. Shoot - we didn't know how lucky we were then.....

BTW - the pix load up a little slowly. Wait for it. I had to switch back to the old provider. Imageshack decided to censor me too much, so until I find something better I have to put up with slow loading times.

I think we all have things to say, but without Porkins, rstowe, and huge sports fans like that, and the fact you can't share blogs, you just think, "huh, what's the point?"

It wasn't even like this when Peavyfan left with some of the greats.

I resent being called a Soap Opera! I cant help it if certain losers stalk my throwdowns.

Anyways, Danni is my kind of girl Thug. Good job finding her. I was disappointed not to get a link to the BBS blog dammit. Now I have to go look at my groupmail for the first time in a month. Damn.

Anyways, I want to say its okay that you send me personal links everytime as I never go away for a week and always comment on your blogs.

Good idea. I like the idea and creativity. I see you are almost done with it.
