They should most definitely train little monkeys to ride the dogs. Dog racing just isn't exciting enough as it is, I believe if they added a little flair, IE rhesus monkeys dressed up as tiny jockeys, the sport would truly take off.
I realize some purists out there would initially feel the new format would be "unprofessional", but just imagine how much more entertaining it would be! I know I'd finally give a darn about dog racing. Heck, I'd tune in every time they aired one. I could just imagine the ratings boost ESPN would get. Plus, there's the added bonus of potential monkey-fights after photo finishes!
Of course, they'd have to get rid of the fake rabbit pace thingy, too distracting for the jockeys. Perhaps they could just dangle bits of bacon from a stick in front of the dogs noses. Now that I think about it, why greyhounds? I say use wei ner dogs. I'm sure they're much easier to ride, and it would result in fewer monkey-injuries. Just a thought...

No question a brilliant ideal. No monkey fights though, that would have a negative fallout (a la Vick). It would bring new variables to increase the difficulty in calculating the odds. I could see fantasy league with monkey and wiener dogs.

Still great idea. The mental picture of a fantasy league kills me. Maybe a team of wiener dogs and monkeys, for added complexity.
