Where did everybody go? They left me all alone in here! After weeks of debating whether or not I should continue here - holding my cursor deftly over the "Leave Group" button - I have a new contribution for the group. Will this be the last? Is this the End? One never knows. I'll keep holding on that maybe someday the founders will return or at least make somebody else a Super Member who might take a crack at being involved with the group. Until then, I guess I'm like this Billy Idol song - Just Dancing With Myself (Oh-oh-uhoh).

Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself

How did we get to this point? Of course it all began back on September 10 - no point in making any more light of the situation than has already been made. Our beloved fan site went down for a re-boot and when it came up again the results were more than horrible. Anger, outrage and blinded eyes were soon replaced by disdain, cynicism and outright disgust at the powers that be at Time Warner for taking our puppy away and giving us back a bucket of snails. Just like this Megadeth classic, we logged onto Fannation that fateful afternoon - and woke up dead. This song contains one of my favorite heavy metal riffs of all time by the way, which enters at the 1:25 of the video, and continues the ferocious head banging until the 2:07 mark.

Megadeth - Wake Up Dead

So where did that leave me? Soon I found myself all alone here. Mac left - he says "For Now" but we'll see. Coletrain passed through did a Throwdown, then moved on. Cincy said his goodbyes. Chrono and LoS neatly abandoned this place with the quickness. The group had been dying as late for them anyway, but some people - me for instance, still found it an enjoyable diversion in a sea of mundane, homer-type sports blogs this site was beginning to produce with extra frequency. The name of the group - Dogs, Pigs and Sheep, refers to a Pink Floyd album, Animals, one of my favorites by them. I didn't include a video from that, but just this one which pretty much sums it up for me and how I feel about the former members of this group.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

So what to do, now that they're all gone? My first inclination was to leave, let it die in peace. I felt like Johnny Cash in this classic cover of Nine Inch Nails' Hurt. To try and keep it going just seemed, well, corny, self-serving, and frankly a little pathetic. I didn't think I would continue, and several times reached for the previously mentioned button to forever severe my super membership and say goodbye to the groups carcass. But I failed to pull the trigger. Sometimes I'd wander to the group page, where never an additional locker talk or group thread was ever added on to. The body was lying still, into I disturbed it just now.

Johnny Cash- Hurt

You're probably expecting a Doors tune right about now? The End - is that what you think I'm going to wrap this up with? Well I'll tell ya, I did search for and find myself that song. A good one too, the one that has the Apocalypse Now footage while Jim Morrison drones and napalm lights the sky. But you're not going to get it. As Juba (Djimon Honsou) says at the end of Gladiator - "I will see you again... but not yet.... not yet." I still have some ideas - an unfinished guitarist series and a Halloween special I'd like to do. So instead I leave you with Linkin Park and their song In the End. Still here, still loud, and not finished rocking yet... not yet.

Linkin Park - In The End

...If you blog it, they will come...

Iknow nothing of most of the people you listed, but chances are that if you check their comments, they were on their way out before the change - the change in format just made for convenient timing...

I love Pink Floyd, Billy Idol, and Johnny Cash. Megadeath and Lincin Park you can keep as your own.
