Here are my Big Ten Rankings going into week 8...
1- Penn State (7-0 Overall, 3-0 Big Ten)
2- Ohio State (6-1 Overall, 3-0 Big Ten)
3- Michigan State (6-1 Overall, 3-0 Big Ten)
4- Minnesota (6-1 Overall, 2-1 Big Ten)
5- Northwestern (5-1 Overall, 1-1 Big Ten)
6- Illinois (3-3 Overall, 1-2 Big Ten)
7- Iowa (4-3 Overall, 1-2 Big Ten)
8 - Wisconsin (3-3 Overall, 0-3 Big Ten)
9- Purdue (2-4 Overall, 0-2 Big Ten)
10- Michigan (2-4 Overall, 1-1 Big Ten)
11- Indian (2-4 Overall, 0-3 Big Ten)
Predictions for the Big Ten games this week...
Indiana at Illinois.....Both teams are coming off of disturbing losses. Illiinois is racking up ridiculous yardage on offense (but not always converting into points) and Indiana looks incapable of stopping anyone offense at this point. Make it Illinois 38, Indiana 21
Purdue at Northwestern.....This is an absolutely critical game for Northwestern. Will they be able to regroup after last week's loss to Michigan State? I think Pat Fitzgerald is one ofthe top 5 coaches in the country, so he'll have the Wildcats ready for a reeling Purdue team/ Make it Northwestern 28, Purdue 17
Michigan at Penn State.....The Nittany Lions (and every other Big Ten team for that matter) smell blood. I think Penn State is the best team in the country at this point, and I expect an epic blowout. Make it, Penn State 45, Michigan 0
Wisconisn at Iowa...This should be a very interesting matchup of two inconsistent teams. Will the Badgers pack it in for the season? WIll Iowa finally win a close game? I think Iowa is on the upswing and expect them to finish in the top half of the Big Ten. Make it Iowa 24, Wisconsin 20
Ohio State at Michigan State.....This is the Big Ten's game ofthe year (to date). The big question to me is if MSU defensive line can stop the run. I don't think Terrell Pryor will beat MSU with his arm, but MSU run defense was shaly against Iowa. Ringer will get his yards, but MSU QB Brian Hoyers play should determine the outcome of the game. Make it MSU 20, Ohio State 17
(I admit to being an MSU alum and season ticket holder so they may be some bias in this pick). If MSU does take out the Buckeyes, you have the potential for a huge season ending game at Penn State with the Rose Bowl (and possible BCS Title game for Penn State) on the line.

mich st OSU is huge..
if spartans get out with a W, they potentially could face an undefeated penn st team for the last game. wait, let me re-read your last paragraph, ... right...you already said it.
*he shrugged his shoulders and meagerly accepted his lack of originality.
basically, yeah, could possibly be mich st to rose bowl, or penn st to miami, where they'd hopefully meet OU.

I graduated from MSU business school in 2003, my brother in law is a sophomore at Ohio State, so I'm not anti-Buckeyes (except this week of course). I think it will be a very close game, probably low scoring. Whoever creates turnovers or makes a big play on special teams will probably win. Do you think Tressel will play Todd Boeckman at all? Prior obviously has the talent, but he hasn't shown much in terms of throwing the deep ball. It will be interesting to see how a frshman handles a hostile Spartan stadium (I know he did okay at Wisconsin, but I expect it to be a much more raucous crowd in East Lansing. The media is putting this as the biggest game in East Lansing since Nick Saban led the undefeated Spartans over an undefeated Michigan team in 1999 (a game I vividly remember attending my freshman year). Ohio State has the edge in talent, but MSU seems to have all the intangibles needed to pull the upset.

You're right it will come down to turnovers and big plays, it always does with OSU/MSU. I doubt Boeckman will play..much if it all. A young QB's mindset is fragile and I'm sure Tressel wants to give him all the support needed. TP can throw the deep he has a cannon arm, just hasn't been given enough chances to show it, once a game messes up your timing.
You tell me if these names sound familiar from your time there MIke McConnell (rb,kr) Clifford Dukes(dl), I kinda knew Jeff Smoker, but not real well.

Clifford Dukes sounds familiar, I don't remember Mike McConnell at all. I saw Jeff Smoker on TV (he is the starting quarterback for an arena league team).

Smoker really? Arena ball huh? Did not know that. McConnell transerred after his sophomore year.

Wisconsin - could have beaten OSU, saw every beak go to Mich, lost to PSU about the same way everyone else has - they have more than enough to take out Iowa.
Won't take off my homer ht long enough to make a decent comment on OSU-MSU.
You are dead on with the rest of the picks.
