Ah voter fraud. What would a Presidential election cycle be like without it? Most of us aren't old enough to know. It's a pretty well accepted fact that Jack Kennedy took office on the strength of votes from dead people in Cook Co. Illinois way back in 1960 with the help of a corrupt mayor. And who can forget the son of that very Chicago mayor, while acting as Al Gore's campaign manager attempted to steal the 2000 election first by trying to have overseas military votes discounted, then by voter fraud, and when all else failed by frivilous lawsuits?

So do the latest revelations of fraud in the upcoming election really come as any surprise? Nah. A lack of such revelations would have have been shocking.

At first  I found the whole ACORN thing humerous. I mean come on, Tony Romo registering to vote in Las Vegas and Mickey Mouse in Florida? Who could take this stuff seriously? Well, turns out it's VERY serious. Several ACORN employees in a few different states have recently pled guilty to voter fraud for registering people to vote multiple times. Keep in mind that most states do NOT require a photo ID in order to cast a vote, only a voter registration card is needed. (A SERIOUS flaw in the voting process that absolutely needs to change).

It also turns out this isn't new to this ACORN group. In fact, they've faced similar charges in each of the last 4 Presidential election cycles. Each time promising to clean up their act while blaming it all on overzealous employees. For the record, ACORN officially claims they don't pay employees by the registration but a flat hourly rate. Ex-employees add the caveat that they were told if they didn't meet their 'quota' they wouldn't get paid at all.

Did I mention that many of ACORN'S employees are convicted felons who themselves hold no voting rights?

OK CCC, so what the hell does this have to do with Obama? Glad you asked. Barry has taken to saying his connection to the group is limited to a single time his firm represented them in a lawsuit while he was still in private law practice. Of course, that's his story NOW, after the stuff hit the fan.

Is there more to it? You betcha. The Obama campaign in this very election cycle 'donated' more than $800,000 to ACORN to register X number of people in poor ethnic neighborhoods during the primaries against Hillary. Illegal? No. Unethical? I'll let the reader decide.

Wait, there's more.

That $800k was initially reported to the FEC as being for services rendered on such things as polling and event staging rather than it's true purpose which was to register as many slam dunk Obama voters as possible...multiple times each. The Obama campaign later effectively said "our bad, it was for a get out the vote campaign".

Wait, there's STILL more

Back in the summer, Barack said: "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career". He's also taught classes for the 'future leaders of ACORN'. Oh, and of course, they have endorsed his 2008 campaign. Funny thing, that. A supposed non-profit non-partisan group whose sole purpose is to get people to register to vote actively supporting a specific candidate while simultaneously receiving TAX MONEY for it's cause.

Wait, there's still MORE

The Chicago branch of ACORN received separate grants from the Woods fund of $45k, $30K, $45k, $30k, and $40k from 2000-2002. Care to guess who served on the board of the Woods fund up through 2002? Yep, none other than Barry O. himself.

So I'm curious. Being as how Tony Romo has plenty of time on his hands with the broken finger and all, I wonder how many times he's going to vote and in how many different jurisdictions...we already know WHO the ACORN folks are voting FOR.
