Guys I've kinda disappeared ever since the LSU-Florida loss mainly because of my lack of free time and sudden depression after seeing the way LSU played D in the 4th qtr. I've came to the conclusion that it'd be better to go ahead and vent my frustration to you losers who have so little free time that your reading the ranting of a sleep deprived teenager then running away from home, buying a bus ticket to Gainesville, and drop kicking Urban Meyers for passing in the 4th qtr. while up 30 points.
But anyways back to my point, since I've been gone so long I have several topics I want to cover.
Thoughts on the LSU-Florida game
I'll go ahead and come out with it, we looked like crap and Florida looked like what they were supposed this season. At the beginning of the season, I pointed out that game as a sure loss, Florida is loaded. One thing I'd like people to keep in mind though is that LSU was down 6 at one point in this game and that they were about a TD away from this going the other way.
Never the less we still lost. I could of accepted a 14, or maybe even a 20 point loss, but when Florida is letting the gas off and running the ball with there 3rd string RB and getting 8-9 yards a carry, that makes me question how motivated this team is, I just didn't see the hunger in them that a great team has to have. My Dad, who coaches at my high school once told me when we were down big, "Alright guys, the pressure is off now, we sure ain't gonna win, but great teams have the kind of games from time to time. The thing that separates them from mediocre teams is when they're down big, they don't lie down, they play that much harder to make a point." I didn't see that from LSU Saturday night, I saw a bunch of guys who got hit in the mouth and tucked there tail between they're legs and said I want to go home. There's no room for that in the SEC!! Let alone at LSU, a team who takes pride in doing nothing but knocking people in the dirt. That's freakin pitiful!!!
Also, I'd like to say that Urban Meyers is a classless piece of crap for trying the jump pass trick play from the 2 yard line with 5 minutes to go, I hope recruits will see that a turn there head from him and that team, because that is not the kind of guy that I want to play for.
Reason I've been away for so long
I'm gonna give you a run down of my schedule,
- 5:20 am.: Get up and go to early morning class
- 6:00 am.-3:11 PM.: Go to school
- 3:11-6:30: Football practice
- 6:30-9:00: Either go to work, play JV Ball, or see trainer for various injuries
- 9:00-10:00: Do Homework and maybe squeeze in the time to watch TV and talk to my GF a little
If you can come up with any ideas for me to have the time and energy to get on this suite with this schedule, please do share.
Thoughts on what's happening in College Football
- Texas is not for real
- I watched them against Oklahoma and I have to say, they looked really average to me. The running game is not what you look for in a top 3 or even a top 5 team, and people say that Colt McCoy was so unbelievable in the game against Oklahoma, but if you look at his stats he didn't do very well for playing against what people called a very bad secondary in Oklahoma. There offensive line got blown out by the obviously better Oklahoma D line and I just don't know if they'll be able to win consistently with that kind of shaky line play.
In closing, I'd like to quote former coach of mine: "For every Negative there is a positive, for every loss there's a win, and for every heartbreak there is redemption"

I don't blame you for not being able to get on this site. Do what you gotta do in the real world first.
Meyer really does love to run up the score. It'll come back to him one day and not in the good way. It just sucks that a W can somehow not be a W with "style points" actually changing teams' rankings.

girlfriend, job, sports, and school....sounds like my day too. however ive got to talk some sports every now and then. I think that Florida is going to be a very "bipolar" team this year. Theyll show up to some and win and then theyll not show up to the rest and win or lose (hopefully lose) I agree that Texas is not for real. Just like Penn State isn't for real. Mizzou's gonna hand it to em this weekend. And I'm just saying, but that quote of your dad's really applied to UGA during the bama game. We kept fighting and that's what separates the men from the boys. Sorry about the Tigers dude....

So what does Texas have to do to prove they're for real? They beat a team that was #1 at the time (and even if you don't agree with the fact that OU was #1, I don't think you can say that they looked like anything less than a top-5, even top-3 team) and any time you play a team that's at the top or very close to it, you're going to have some things that don't go that well. Texas did, but they won and I think they were pretty clearly the better team. Their running game is underrated, as they have more rushing TDs than most, if not all, of the SEC "rushing powerhouses".

I agree. I did not think Texas was all that great.
Just a matchup between two overrated big 12 teams.

*LSU*,
I hear what you're saying about the D in the second half, but keep in mind that they were on the field for almost the entire first half. After the first drive in the 3rd quarter, they just looked gassed to me. They were a lot slower than they usually are and I don't think it was from lack of effort. I put the loss more on the total inability of the offense to do anything right until the last two minutes of the first half.
If LSU manages to win the SEC West, which they still have a decent shot at considering the fact that they match up better strength to strength against the rest of the teams on their schedule, they'll probably end up playing Florida again in the SEC Championship game. If they do, they may lose the game, but I'd be willing to bet it won't look anything like the loss last week.

I'm not trying to get you more down, but imagine your pain, times 10 having to face your rivals fans in 2 days because you are so close, getting shut out 31-0, and when you are 4-1 and the other team is 1-3. That is how I felt when Maryland lost to UVA.

As luck would have it, the 1st year I lived out of state (in Detroit) OSU lost to Michigan for the 1st under the sweater vest. i was expeccting and was ready for the comments from fans facing years of frustrations.
...After they started, I responded they should be excited and thrilled - for a struggling, little upstart program like UofM to rise up and post a W over a perennial national powerhouse is a huge win - perhaps the greatest win in the program's history - and should be cause for parades and a state holiday as well...
...as I continued my "Praise" they walked away...

OK here's the BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front)
LSU has won 2 National Titles in 5 years *LSU*, Their Heir to the Quarterback Position was kicked off for being a Thug, they have a freshman QB and a young inexperienced D backfield. They are 4-1 in the SEC, for now. My gosh! I know that you were a todler during the early nineties but hey buddy, be glad that we are on such a run. There are high's and low for every team! Tennessee used to be dominent, their down, Bama was not that good in the last few years, their back, same with Auburn, and so on. Its one game! How many of us predicted a 10-2 or 9-3 season? Well here you go. I don't believe they laid down. I think it inexperience. Keep the faith brother.
