Big gut check time in the AFC this week in two games. San Diego at Buffalo starts things off. Is Buffalo ready to challenge the AFC East crown? Are the Chargers gaining any steam in reclaiming the high status they held preseason? The Bills are favored by 1 and I'll have to agree, as inconsistent as San Diego has been I think they'll drop the ball this week.

Meanwhile Denver and New England joust on Monday night. Denver's confidence is shaken and the Pats don't want to lose two straight at home. I believe New England will find a way to win this one.

The Saints are 3 point underdogs visiting Carolina, if they lose they'll drop two games back of the leaders in the NFC South. AS well as Brees has been playing I'll take the Saints in an upset to truly mess up the standings in that division.

In the Bizarro World NFL last week the Rams upended the Redskins, I see a return to normalcy this week with St. Louis losing to Dallas (with or without Romo) and the Skins thumping Cleveland at home.

The Colts get to face a Packers defense that isn't healthy and Rodgers hasn't played enough to truly exploit the Lambaugh home field advantage. I think the Colts win another this week. As usual the Colts lineup is depleted, now the RB corps is in trouble. And I've got a bad feeling about safety Bob Sanders, he's an amazing talent but at the intensity he plays the game I don't expect him to be around too long. He plays each down like it's a punt return, full speed. His body isn't holding out. I've got to worry that he'll only be around another season or two in limited capacity, I hope I'm wrong. He's probably head butting parked cars on his injury time off just for kicks, great to have that kind of player on your team, however long it lasts...

The other games look like they're easy victories for the favorites, other than a close spread between the Bears and Vikings but the Bears should win a close one.

One last thing... my apologies for doubting the Falcons. I'm pretty sure they're not Super Bowl contenders but they're two steps above where I thought they were. The Bears D seems a bit overrated but I still thought they'd stop Ryan and co... congrats

 That's all for now... Bones
